Well, I have promised him that if he ever comes to visit, I will take him on a bakery tour of Ann Arbor and Detroit.

I was going through a rough patch for awhile, the last six or seven weeks have been somewhat tough on me and my family between various illnesses, injuries, etc. Following my father's death I was pretty bad for awhile...wasn't eating or drinking unless someone gave it to me, was only either curled up in a ball in bed or was at work, had to even literally force myself to read or get on the internet...I seem to be working myself out of it a little bit the last day or so. I have forced myself to eat regular and healthy meals, have gotten up at my normal time and have tried to move around a bit, took some benadryl so I could sleep at night, and have been making myself drink big glasses of water. This all seems to be helping. My friends have been wonderful -- Damelon was very kind last weekend, reminding me of all of the great things in life like sunshine and my children. And Danlo offered to kick the butts of everyone who has been mean to me lately, though I turned down his offer. Even Calibaby has been nice, the last couple of days he came home at some point in the day to make sure I was eating something. And he says he will come to my father's house with me to help, and he seems to mean it...

I think I might still have some bad days here and there, as grief won't go away in just a few days, or even a few weeks...and when I go down to clean out my father's house in late April I might feel pretty bad again for awhile -- but I hope the worst is over now...

And Damelon is right. While there can be great sorrow and sadness in life, there is still joy and beauty and love, too.

Condolences & BIG HUGS & lots of love to you duchess. I'm sorry I didn't hear of your dad's passing. My prayers are with you in this difficult time.

On the lighter side - they announced today it was the fourth coldest January ever (recorded anyway) in B-lo - average temp was 17.4F for the month - coldest was in 1977 avg was 13F.
y gas bill is certainly reflecting those kind of temps!!! Cripple but free; I was blind all the time I was learning to see

Sorry, Duchess. Had no idea. It will get better, and in the meantime, you have us if you need us.

This is about as close as I could come to anything Valentiny this year--sorry but the emoticon storage is at max Tam and I celebrated last weekend by going out to our fav Greek restaurant and having a very romantic dinner . We did it last week cause we had to give up drinking in order to qualify for adoption.

Man we're getting ripped off here in Albuquerque right now! We're freezing but everyone else in the state is getting tons of snow and snow days off:"> *****

It's actually warm (up in the twenties) and sunny today.

Glad our usual nasty weather went elsewhere. ******************************************************

Well, first I was going to go see my older son wrestle in the League championships. But when he came home from school yesterday, he had a booboo on his chin, and the athletic trainer said he thought it was a skin infection. So he would not be able to wrestle. He would still go to the tournament, as part of the team and cheer for his teammates, however.
Very well. We made the first doctor's appointment we could get for him, on Monday, and made alternate plans.
Our little son went to a nearby town for an overnight visit to his best friend's house. My husband and I planned to sleep in late and then go to lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant I have been wanting to try, and pick up the little guy at 2PM, as his friend's parents requested.
This morning our older son called from the tournament down in Monroe. He had been cleared to wrestle by the skin check referee. What had looked like an infection turned out to be a probable mat burn. My husband had promised him he would go watch, but he had also promised me to actually spend some time with me today. To solve his dilema, I sent him on down there, as it seemed better to me that he break promises to me than to our child. I couldn't go, as one of us had to go pick up the younger son in the opposite direction.
At least I did get to have lunch with my younger son, and his friend, who came home with us. Thse two always giggle and laugh and act silly, and hearing them is always good. And Damelon cheered me up this morning, as he usually does when I am feeling a bit blue. So in spite of all of the changed plans, the day is turning out to be pretty good. ******************************************************
