Sounds fun, danlo!
Today I found a really good bargain.
Walgreens is currently clearancing out their photostamps.com kits that are used to create personalized postage stamps. The ones at my Walgreens are marked "Last Chance $13.99," but ring up for $7.19. Included in this kit is a coupon code for 20 free postage stamps and free shipping. With FL state sales tax, I paid $7.68, or 38.4¢ per stamp.
I believe these are being clearanced because the pictures on the packaging for the stamps show the 42¢ stamps instead of the current 44¢ ones. However, once you go to photostamps.com you are given the option of setting the postage amount, with 44¢ being the default setting.
Now, to make a good deal even better...
Log in to upromise.com, a college savings program. If you don't have an account, nor a child/ren in mind to name as beneficiary, I'll be happy to send you an invite to set up an account for Beorn, but feel free to create an account naming anyone. It's free to join. The best part is that you
can withdraw the money anytime, even if it's not going to be used for education. It's been around a long time and is reputable.
Once logged in, do a search for photostamps.com and click on "shop." This will then take you to the photostamps.com page to create your stamps. Once your order is approved, in a month's time or so upromise will put $8.00 in to your upromise account. Yes, more than I paid for the kit. So, I am getting the customized stamps you see pictured,
and I am being paid 1.6¢ per stamp for ordering them.
I only bought one kit, so far. I have heard upromise is so far not limiting the number of times they will pay $8.00 in to your account. From what I have seen, the CD in the kit is not needed at all; you can go straight to photostamps.com and create your stamps. However, each coupon code works only once.
If you decide to look for these kits, I hope you find them. I will be heading out to look for more shortly.
