It's his life to do with as he pleases, of course. If wrestling is his passion, then that must be respected. On the other hand, he could end up paying a heavy price in pursuit of that passion, if his post-concussion symptoms worsen. If he can find a balance between playing the sport he loves and protecting his health from serious damage, then power to him. :|

The most interesting thing I did today was throw up at 1:00 in the morning. It was due to some bad food - I'm sure it was the chicken dinner from the deli. I think all the episodes of food poisoning I've had involved chicken.

Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep. So I was pretty tired when I showed up at work, but I had to set up for our staff Christmas luncheon (100+ people). Luckily my fellow colleagues took pity on me (heh) and a bunch of them came and did most of the grunt work for me. This year they ordered Chinese; the food was good and I was relieved that chicken wasn't on the menu.

Later, towards the end of my workday, one of the lunch attendees informed me that she had lost her cellphone but was convinced it had to have been in or around the conference room where we had the lunch, because she said she had not gone anywhere else upon arriving. So, after considering every other plausible location where her cell might have ended up, I and my boss agreed to open up all the dozen or so bags of trash from the luncheon to see if the cell had somehow been accidentally thrown in with the garbage. Half an hour later, no cell phone. I thought that was the end of it...but then the woman mentioned that she had in fact visited an office after the lunch. Woulda been nice if she had remembered to tell us that bit of helpful information earlier. So my boss brought her to that office - and bingo, there was her cell phone, lying on the floor where she had dropped it! So all that effort of sifting through the trash had been a wasted exercise.

That was my kind of day - the good (yummy lunch), the bad (food poisoning) and the ugly (a pointless search through heaps of garbage).

I hate bad chicken. And cell phones.

Damn, I feel for you man. I hate throwing up. And I hate pointless work. :(

Quiet day at work today - not surprising, being a Friday, on the week before the Christmas holidays. Attended an informal wine-and-cheese staff party...definitely wasn't quiet there! :P

Next week, the place will really be dead. I'll still be going in, but as of noon on the 24th, I'll be on holidays until January 5th. :woohoo:

You are lucky, I will be working the next five days, including both Christmas Eve and Christmas. Will work New Year's Eve, but have New Year's Day off this year.

Since today is my day off, I have spent it looking out at the sun shining on the snow. Gorgeous. :cloud:

I have also been wrapping Christmas gifts, and am about to go buy our holiday dinner (which I will not be home to eat).

Not big into Christmas myself - not the formal activities, anyway. I'll be watching a movie or two, either on DVD or surfing channels...and playing the Nutcracker and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Yesterday was our (Cali and mine) anniversary so we celebrated by going out to breakfast (pancakes) and dinner (a Mediterranen fusion place) - and buying a bunch of furniture. Our old living room furniture was well over twenty years old, and was so worn out that the frames had come out of the back and have been digging holes in the walls. And the bottom of the seats has been falling apart, and Cali has jury rigged them with rope and scraps of wood so people do not fall through to the floor when they try to sit down. And we had never gotten any furniture for the front living room at all, so the front living room which is the entry room for the house has not had furniture since we moved in seven years ago. So it was just sort of a wasted room to store stuff like toys.

So we have been saving our money for a long time kowing we had to get furniture at some point and bought some nice La-Z-Boy recliners. A reclining sofa, a reclining chair, and a reclining loveseat - all in chocolate brown. The sofa and chair will replace the sofa and chair in the family room. The loveseat will go in the front room in front of the fireplace. I will put a lamp in there and will probably use it as a main reading spot. In the winter I can have a fire and be able to watch the birds at their feeders next to the front porch.

We were able to pay in cash, and ordered some really nice furniture (with great lumbar support - I must have sat on more than twenty sofas until I picked out the one that felt best on my back) which is made by a Michigan company in an adjoining county, so helped our community while we were at it.

It will not arrive until late January, though. But that gives us time to haul the old furniture to the dump and patch the holes in the walls that came from the old furniture.

I am almost to the point where I can count the days until I get my two days of thyroid tests in the first full week of January. :D 8)
