Ah, one more night at work and then I can be on vacation. All of the tickets, including the last minute ones to the blue Man Group are in hand, and we are ready (other than packing) to hit the City of Blinding Lights and Wisconsin.

I saw at the Watch that Danlo's plans for going to the east Coast Gathering are working out well. I am so glad he will get to go to that! Danlo - you will have a blast! ******************************************************

Have a great vacation, Duchess.

I am in the middle of orienting to a new (second) per diem job as a hospital-based lactation consultant. Seems pretty good so far.

In other news, Foamy made straight A's this past semester in college and my son graduated from high school as valedictorian of his class. "Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?"<i></i>

Unless I manage to find a few minutes tomorrow morning, this will be it for more than a week.

Hope everyone here has a wonderful week - party well and heartily!

I'm really looking forward to seeing the Tiggies claw up some Cubbies' butts in Chicago. And I hope the Indians beat the stuffing out of the at the game we're going to on Sunday.

The King Tut exhibit , the water parks , the Frank Lloyd Wright estate , the Blue Man Group , and all of the other stuff should be a lot of fun, too. ******************************************************

Greeting from Wisconsin!!!

I got a bit tired of soaking in the giant hot tubs and playing in the four (!!!) water parks here at the hotel, so thought I would stop by and say hello.

We are having a great time. Chicago was fun - we got to attend part of the Chicago Blues Fest, and heard some great bands. We got to go to a White Sox game, and they made a great rally in the ninth inning, but still lost. We visited the King Tut exhibit, which was awesome.

So far in Wisconsin we took a tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright estate, which was fantastic. No matter how much you read about great art, or see pictures of it, it is never the same as actually being able to walk through it and experience it. If anyone is ever near Spring Green, I highly recommend it. We also visited the International Crane facility, which is a refuge and breeding center for highly endangered birds. We got to see a pair of whooping cranes and their newly hatched chick.

Here in the Dells , we have taken a boat tour of the Upper Dells and a duck (military vehicle of WW2 vintage which goes on both land and water) tour of the Lower Dells. Both were a lot of fun. We have been spending most of our time in the water parks attached to the hotel, of course, but later tonight we will go play miniature golf and let the kids drive go carts.

Tomorrow we will head back to Chicago for a couple more days. We will watch a Tigers/Cubbies game tomorrow, and a Blue Man Group concert on Saturday. We may or may not go to the museum of Science and Industry to see a special exhibit they are having on Leonardo da Vinci and his inventions.

Hope everyone else is having a great week, too!! <i></i>

Here's what happened to me today:

I'm feeling relief, pain and kinda depressed right now. At 9am this morning my SUV was tagged in the passenger side by some unlicensed clown going 40mph though a red light. The foster boys are absolutely fine-I can't sing praises to the Graco Co. high enough for those carseats. The car would have struck Adrien's door head on if I hadn't hit the gas and turned the SUV towards his direction. There's not much left of the front of "his" car but damm that old Envoy is a tough bitch. Didn't look like anything happened until you go around to the other side to find the rim bent, tire torn off and axel broken. I got the worst of it by my seat belt got contusions in the hip and leg. What depresses me is that I'm been stretching and playing basketball like crazy (for my trip back east) and finally got rid of my pesky siatica in my left hip. Oh well things could get worse and I probably won't care about a thing where Tam gets back from the drug store with my cyclobenzaprine. We loved that little Jimmy/Envoy prototype, be a shame to have to shoot her. I think I did good though, if I had hesitated, at all, it could have been much worse...

Damn. Fine work, from what it sounds like, though, Danlo. Glad everyone's ok.

What happened to the driver? Did he go away in an ambulance or police car? (illegal?) ________________

Oh, that must have been terrifying!!!!!!!!!!

But as long as all of the people involved are OK, all is well. Danlo, it sounds like you saved the day with some very quick thinking!!!

We are home safe and sound after a long day on some very busy roads. We missed huge thunderstorms all day by a few minutes (they passed through Chicago while we were in the museum visiting the very cool da Vinci exhibit and we follwed the dark and threatening clouds all across Indiana and Michigan without ever catching up to them, though the roads were covered with water in their wake).

Had a great week - everything from having a romantic dinner in a supper club on a Wisconsin lake at sunset to watching the Tigers and their fans taking over Wrigley Field (there were enough of us fans there that we drowned out the Cubbies fans when we chanted "Let's Go Tigers!!!!" ) to listening to fantastic blues both weekends to finding a new favorite restaurant near our favorite hotel in Chicago - an Irish pub called the Kerryman. And we found a great sports bar at the Cubby Bear Lounge, where we ate lunch across the street from Wrigley before the game. We even managed to have time to watch some World Cup soccer games. The kids are rooting for Brazil and France.

Danlo -- I am sooooooooooo glad that you and the kids are OK. ******************************************************

How's everybody doing? It's raining cats and dogs here today, and we're getting ready to send our son off to Washington, DC for a month.

Hope everyone is well. "Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?"<i></i>
