We are having a very nice weekend (except for those stupid fights at Fenway ) I just came back from a nice crisp walk with Jammie , Tam is making some crazy Chinese shrimp concoction, and we are about to watch some artsy film called Clare Dolan w/Katrin Cartlidge and Vincent (L & O CI) D'Onfrio. We watched Picinic at Hanging Rock last night, which I've wanted to see for a very long time, by the great Australian director Peter Wier. It was a very beautifully done film but I still don't know what to make of it... And now Danlo looked in that direction, too. He remembered that snowy owls mate in the darkest part of deep winter, and so along with this beautiful white bird perched in a tree a hundred feet away, he turned to face the sea as he watched and waited.

Ahira, Ahira, he called out silently to the sky. Ahira, Ahira

This afternoon was gorgeous (except for having to go to work in about an hour). I went for a long walk with Calibaby and Max . We went walking on the dirt road near our house and saw deer and wild turkeys. The leaves are turning beautiful colors and there isn't a cloud in the sky. It was beautiful here this weekend too - Sat was one of the most beautiful days I've ever seen - clear azure blue sky, a few fluffy white clouds and a blazing scarlet red leafed(?) maple tree made it look like a postcard scene. Absolutely gorgeous!

We went for a picnic on Lake Erie, then off to our local "pumpkin patch" to get a couple of big pumpkins, cornstalks, etc ... stopped at an apple orchard and picked up some beautiful fresh apples - I got some red delicious that were (not exaggerating(?)) 5" in diameter!!!! I've never seen apples that big. They were sweet & juicy .....ahhhh!!!!
Picked up abunch of other baking apples & made a couple of pies last night mmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!! Cripple but free; I was blind all the time I was learning to see

I could tell it was nice up there as the sportscasters at Lambeau Field keep raving about the prefect October weather. It's very nice here today, about 76 with a hint of crispness. Aside from football we watched The Good Thief w/Nick Nolte which was very, very, very good. Tam is feeling alot better after 6 weeks of a broncial/sinus infection! Thank Gods! And now Danlo looked in that direction, too. He remembered that snowy owls mate in the darkest part of deep winter, and so along with this beautiful white bird perched in a tree a hundred feet away, he turned to face the sea as he watched and waited.

Oh, I'm so glad she's starting to feel better! (Now if only my sinuses would do likewise ).

Today the leaves look beautiful outside the window, but its chilly and rainy...at work tonight they are going to train me on this new half million dollar high tech machine. I am actually looking forward to it -- I will get to be trained on it for the rest of the week, actually, and it will be a very nice break from routine!

This coming Sunday I might have to work a double afternoon/midnight shift -- 3:30Pm until 6AM. I told them I would only do it if I could have Monday off to sleep. We will see. Our lives are the songs that sing the universe into existence.~David Zindell

Skoal! Thanks Earthy! And now Danlo looked in that direction, too. He remembered that snowy owls mate in the darkest part of deep winter, and so along with this beautiful white bird perched in a tree a hundred feet away, he turned to face the sea as he watched and waited.

Three words: Sox in Seven!!!! Screw the Bambino--Go Sox!!! Further up, and further in!

I'm from Boston. I dont pronounce my R's. I call a garbage can a barrel, a liquor store a packie, a water fountain a bubbla, a milkshake a frappe. I root for a team who has not won a World Series since 1918. To me Cape Cod is a little piece of Heaven down here on Earth. The best place to be on a summer night is Fenway. I ride on the T. I know better than to swim in the Charles River. I yell YANKEES SUCK! when the Red Sox are playing the Tigers. I am a Bostonian and I'm wicked proud of it.

Today being a special day for me, my husband took the afternoon off and took me out for lunch at our favorite Chinese restaurant (the one where we had our first date way back in 1983 when I was only 18! Yes, Fist -- the same restaurant where he got the fortune on that same first date that he should marry his current partner! ) After lunch we went for a long walk along the Huron River in Ann Arbor, where we saw two different species of ducks, a loon, huge flocks of geese, and wild swans.
Tonight we will take the kids to soccer practice and go walking along the much smaller Saline River in town...followed by dinner and .
Tomorrow our older son will take the PSAT test in the morning, thought it doesn't really count for him this year since he is only a sophomore -- then we will sneak into Ann Arbor during the Michigan football game and go to the hot tub gardens (my husband has reserved one of my favorite gardens, the Japanese one) and lunch. In the evening my younger son has a soccer game under the lights -- it'll be cold, so I will take a thermos of hot chocolate. We'll probably go out to dinner in town after that...
Sunday I will get to work from 3:30 PM until 7AM the following morning, but will have Monday off... Our lives are the songs that sing the universe into existence.~David Zindell

"You say it's your birthday...happy brithday to ya..." And now Danlo looked in that direction, too. He remembered that snowy owls mate in the darkest part of deep winter, and so along with this beautiful white bird perched in a tree a hundred feet away, he turned to face the sea as he watched and waited.
