Well, the car isn't OK yet -- hopefully it will be on Monday, though. It is ten years old and has over 130,000 miles on it and this is the first time it has ever left us stranded someplace, so I really can't complain.
We are now thinking of driving the work truck to Chicago...which will as always, make for "interesting" parking situations! Our lives are the songs that sing the universe into existence.~David Zindell

Yay! I know how you feel, MsMM. I'm taking a week of leave just because. ________________

I am seriously considering calling in for a mental/emotional health day tomorrow when we have to drive to Hamtrmck again to pick up my car (if it's even ready in time for me to pick it up in time to go to work...)
I hate doing that, but I've been both a bit stressed and under the weather the last couple of days...
Can't wait to get to Chicago and relax!

I don't normally think of Chicago as relaxing, since that's where I work; but it will be for a couple of days this week.

Getting down to the final countdown.

The pieces falling into place. The bard by the lake, the blue men in Wrigleyville. A relaxing weekend for Duchess and the family, and a bit of a different one for me. I'm looking forward to it. One more detail I'm going to try to hammer out tomorrow and things should be set.

Oh, it'll be great! We get Damelon and Shakespeare on Thursday, Adler Plantetarium and the bookstore at the Field Museum (my older son loves their selection of history books -- and we are hoping they won't charge us admission if we are only going in to go shopping, but even if they do we can always say hello to the mummies) and Rain Forest Cafe on Friday, and Damelon with friends and Blueman and Harry Carray's on Saturday! We are thinking of leaving early on Sunday morning so we can spend the day at the beach at Warren Dunes on the way home...it is the southernmost of Michigan's stunning dune areas, just north of the Indiana border...

Got my ride back today and somehow all ten radio buttons got reset to easy listening stations! One more work day though and it'll be a lovely four day weekend! Our lives are the songs that sing the universe into existence.~David Zindell

"Come to Elfhand," the troll said.
The child thought for a while....
"N-no" said the child
"Why not?" said the troll.

It was horrible, Mhory, just horrible! And of course, I didn't realize until I was out on the freeway in rush hour traffic so I couldn't change them back! I will have to go outside in a few minutes and do just that! Our lives are the songs that sing the universe into existence.~David Zindell

OOOOOOOOO that calls 4 some SERIOUS Panthera! :"> And now Danlo looked in that direction, too. He remembered that snowy owls mate in the darkest part of deep winter, and so along with this beautiful white bird perched in a tree a hundred feet away, he turned to face the sea as he watched and waited.

, Calibaby Bigredbulldog, Mrsunshine and I had a great time this evening. Duchess is as charming in person as she is on the boards. We had a nice dinner outside at the Pier (even if the waiter had to come back and tell me that they had no halibut ), next door to the theater.

The play, a shortened version of A Midsummer Night's Dream, was a hoot.

Afterwards there was mini-golf. Reminded me of the Hangar

Can't wait for Saturday and the bluemen.
