Got 'em. Brand new 450w power supply, and a new 500Gb SATA hard-drive. Awesome.

Of course, now my connection is playing up. Seems to be ok now though.

Speaking of absences -- Jenn posted at the Watch that danlo's spending a couple of days in the hospital for some sort of leg problem. Jenn seemed to be brushing it off as not a big deal. That's all I know.

Wow, more tornadoes yesterday. We have had more tornadoes in this state in the past six weeks than we usually do in an entire year. The bulk of them (including the ones in Willis and New Boston yesterday) have been within ten or so miles of my house.

My younger son is in Washington for the National Youth Leadership Conference thingee. . Hope he is having fun. Yesterday they got to go to Arlington National Cemetery and some of the presidential memorials. Today is the Pentagon, the Lincoln memorial, and the war memorials. Along with lots of seminars, model congress and stuff like that. Tonight is also strategy game night, which he should enjoy.

Well, at least my internet connection is working properly...it's been mind-numbingly slow for a week.

But I notice my firefox isn't caching...damnit.

Hey, I'm back! Don't know if you missed me but I've been in the hospital and convalescing since Father's Day. I got my dam lymphoma/staff cellulitus again (fifth time since 1980 when it almost, seriously, killed me) and this time it had a secondary infection that attacked my foot, which had never happened before. I'm not totally healed, still on a mess of antibiotics, but home, walking around and doing a bunch of things. Actually, today is the first day I can sit on the comp without being in pain.

The good news/bad news I got out of all this was an ultrasound they did on my liver and spleen: My platelets in my spleen was incredibly low (but turned super healthy by the time I was released) and my liver is at a very intense turning point. Basically, if this wasn't caught and I continued drinking, I would have fallen into irreversible liver damage. So this illness basically saved my life. No more alcohol for me ever---which is kinda bad news, but it wasn't really doing anything for me anyway, just being a bad habit...So here's to health and joy and life! I'm very happy to be alive!
