There are several different designs. Fist's covers his whole face (I tease him about Darth Vader masks  ). There is one that covers your whole nose. Mine has two little nozzles that go up my nostrils. What the thing does is blow room air (mine has a humidifier) down your throat via your nose to keep your trachea open while you sleep. The second sleep study determines the necessary rate of the blowing, and the thing has a computer chip that controls the blowing rate.

Fist says that it takes a long time, but eventually it does get to the point where you can just tighten the straps on the mask when it blows air on your face and go back to sleep. :) 8)

Hahaha, the irony...this is supposed to help you sleep better, right?

Sounds like the cure is almost worse than the disease. Sorry it's being such a pain, Duchess.

I bought an herb kit for making mead at a festival a week or so ago. Last night, Magickmaker and I checked out the resulting brew and decided it was done. So we each had a glass of homemade Midsummer mead to celebrate the equinox. :)

Uh, a herb kit.

I infer from the "an" that you're pronouncing it like a cockney barrow boy. Why do people in the US do that?

it's just our language convention over here, to use "an" before "a" with some words that start with an "h". Don't ask me why - American English (and English period) is just an odd language.

From what I understand, Canadian French and proper Parisian French are even further apart than British and American English are. I read somewhere that Canadian French has a lot of its roots in old Norman French? :?

The h is not silent. An hour, yes. Silent h. A herb. Not silent, I promise you. ;) Some brits drop their h's, and sometimes they put them back in strange places. :D

(Oh yeah, my appy started yesterday. :D Doing alright so far...) (The sound of the keyboard clattering, doing the work I don't like doing, is quite nice actually.)

I feel really good--saw my primary care doctor this morning (didn't even know I had one) lost 10 lbs. Got an MRI scheduled for the cyst on the back of my neck that won't go away. Also got a (gulp) colonoscophy scheduled  . Went to Wound Care, first time since in 2 weeks and they put a semi-cast on my lower right leg to keep the swelling down and said that I am healing splendidly, cast shoe takes a lot of pressure off my left foot which is wonderful.

I miss my baby Grace, she's at her 4 day of summer intro Kindergarten and After School program, so I don't see her during the week from 7:50 AM till 5 or 6 at night. She's really enjoying it though and soaking up info like a beautiful little sponge.

The colonoscopy is nothing - they give you lots of drugs so you do not feel a thing. The prep for the colonoscopy is a different story. :faint:
