Duchess, how long before you get the new well going?

Moonwatcher, every time we have snow melt or moderate rain our basement at work (and I work in the basement) takes in water. No electrical problems that I know of, so hopefully all will be well in your building as well.

Well, hold thumbs for a rainless day for me tomorrow...gonna try hitting that building again.

Weather was good. Most interesting thing I did today was jump off a building. I'll put a couple pics up at the watch during the week.

Spent all day yesterday moving bushes and flowers from the new well site.

Today we drove out to Carleton to meet a bunch of friends and to get barbecue from a hole in the wall place, then ice cream at the dairy. MOOOOOO!!!!

Heights are a strange thing - they freak me out, and exhilarate me too. Probably a normal thing I suppose...

Hahaha, I like it thin.

And I feel the same way about heights...I like 'em much more when I've got a rope attached to me.

After two days of work we have a well!

They only had to dig down 58 feet. They did the digging yesterday, then left because thunderstorms were due in the area in the afternoon and their other crew was having a really bad time and a lot of problems on another job site.

Today they came back and hooked up the new well to the house, so did a lot of plumbing work.

They dumped in a bunch of chlorine, so we still cannot use the water other than for flushing toilets. They told us to run the garden hose at full at least two hours or until the bleach smell goes away, and then we can use the water.

We also have to take water samples to the public health department in two weeks to make sure any harmful microorganisms were all killed by the chlorine.

I am hugely looking forward to washing some clothes tomorrow!

Today was the final resolution of the Client Gift Debacle. Last weekend, I picked up the parts for an assemble-it-yourself frame and glass insert at the local crafts store, where the nice man in the framing department cut the glass to size for me for free. Total: $30. This morning, I picked up the restored photo. The company did a really nice job on it, and included a copy of the digital image on CD. Total for that was $120. So my attorney paid $150 for a gift to himself. And I'm sure the client will wonder why the frame looks different...

WOOT!

Yes, and my boss was back today and agreed with me that it turned out just fine. I left the original picture for him so that he could see how awful it was.

It's going to be a crazy week at work. Two of our clients from India will be arriving tomorrow and staying through Thursday. Should be pretty darned entertaining....

Finally got my cpap machine this morning. Sleeping for the next month or so should be an adventure until I get used to it. It is a little high tech wonder.

Finally got to scrub down the bathrooms and sinks today, with clearance from the insurance agent. They were all filthy from the sand coming up with the water when the well went bad. Obviously, sand got in all of the plumbing and pipes and fixtures. At the very least we will have to probably replace all of the faucets in the house. hence the insurance claim - not for the well, but from the sand.
