It's from some old SF website by some guy who was criticizing Piers Anthony (about 6 years ago) for announcing that Stephen R. Donaldson was dead on his website. He confused him with the late black gay activist Stephen Donaldson...

Yes...I've been thinking about Tracie's passing all day, just letting it sink in and processing it.

I just read Fist's tribute to her. He summed up, as well as anyone could, what Furls meant to KW and to those of us who were touched by her presence.

Over the last months, since finding out Furls was sick, I have been hoping against hope for a miracle. If anyone ever deserved one, it was Tracie.

Oh well. At least she is not in horrible pain anymore - and she is with her brother and friends at the Saint's House in Heaven.

I am still largely numb. I know at some point it will really start to hit, and then I will break down. Just hope that happens at home instead of while driving or at work.

That can so often be the thing with death when the person has been so ill. It is a sort of blessing for them to go onward - to be beyond the pain and horror and fear of the illness.

But it is so hard for everyone left behind here in this world.

And in the case of Tracie - who did so much to help others - the whole world has just gone darker, and gotten smaller and meaner and colder.
