Thursday, Sept. 10th
Tennessee at Pittsburgh (late)
Pittsburgh. Been consistently good for the last few years.

Sunday, Sept 13th
early
Philadelphia at Carolina
Philly. Carolina in a bit of disarray after kicking part of the family out of the front office.
Minnesota at Cleveland
Minnesota. It's early before Farve totally poops out the second half of the season.
Kansas City at Baltimore
Baltimore.
Denver at Cincinnati
Cincy. Just a fan. Always root for them as the eternal underdog.
Jacksonville at Indianapolis
Indy. Geering up for another SB run. Focused.
NY Jets at Houston
Houston. Young USC QB Sanchez gets a welcome to NFL defenses.
Dallas at Tampa Bay
Dallas. The scoreboard will block three attempted TD passes by Tampa.
Detroit at New Orleans
NO. Stafford also gets an NFL welcome.
Miami at Atlanta
Atlanta. Ryan leads a workmanlike effort.
afternoon
San Francisco at Arizona
Ariz. Still riding a high from making it to the SB.
Washington at NY Giants
NY. Weakened team but doesn't take a lot to beat Wash.
St. Louis at Seattle
Seattle. Too fair teams. Seahawks squeek by.late
Chicago at Green Bay
Chicago. Bears have a QB now.
Monday, Sept 14th (yes, two games)
late aft
Buffalo at New England
NE. Buaffalo is still not ready for prime time.late
San Diego at Oakland>
SD wins 27-3. Oakland is pathetic.

NFL Schedule week 1
Thursday, Sept. 10th

Tennessee at Pittsburgh (late)

The defending superbowl champs got shellacked last year by the Titans. But, I think the improvement of the running game (Parker and Mendenhall both back), along with a second consecutive year with the same o-line, should create a better running game and provide better security to Roethlisberger. This will probably be a better team than last year.

Also, Kerry Collins does not seem to me to be a starting quarterback worthy of striking fear into the #1 ranked defense in the league.

Sunday, Sept 13th, early

Philadelphia at Carolina

The Eagles made a bold move signing Vick. It will either pay off huge or backfire badly. I think the alienation of some fans might hurt, but, if they use Vick correctly, they will be better for it. McNabb should be great if they run packages to utilize Vick's talents.

Atlanta has Michael Turner in the backfield. While he is a strong runner, Matt Ryan does not strike much fear either. Atlanta has a very good secondary now, and they should be ok against the run, but the Eagles have more horses in the stable and should pull out a close one.

Minnesota at Cleveland

Minnesota is lucky to be starting against the AFC vs. the NFC. Brett Favre has been seen less in the AFC than the NFC. Favre will help them get a win, but mainly because Cleveland is just as bad as previous years.

Kansas City at Baltimore

Kansas City as done very little to endear themselves to fans. The only Chief fans left have to be the lifers from the Len Dawson era. Baltimore did not do lots to help Flacco, who is over-rated anyway. But, against a team that is lucky to win three this year, they should have no problem.

Denver at Cincinnati

Cincinnati should show SOME of the promise that they have been threatening for years. Solid with Palmer and 85, and an improving running game, Benson should be fine and Houshmanzadah and 85 are great targets. A young secondary might be suspect, but if they hold up, Cincy might even be playoff bound.

Jacksonville at Indianapolis

Well, this game is the tale of two disappointing franchises. Indy got their superbowl a couple of years ago and are so on the decline. Jacksonville is not a team to worry about. David Garrard will not actually produce very many winning seasons. So, this being two teams who are not special this year, Indy does have Peyton.

NY Jets at Houston

The Jets are a team on the rise, and Houston wants to be a team on the rise but are not there yet.

Dallas at Tampa Bay

Tony Romo went to the same college I did. That being said, I also cannot stand the Cowgirls, so I will pick against them every week. They are my "nonsense " pick every week.

Detroit at New Orleans

Breese should have no difficulties defeating the 0-17 Lions. (Yes, 0-17 because they will start this year losing.)

Miami at Atlanta

This one is a close one but I will take Atlanta because I have liked the front office of the Falcons since they dumped Vick.

afternoon

San Francisco at Arizona

Should be a walk in the park for the Cards.

Washington at NY Giants

The Redskins are moving in the right direction, everything but NOT changing the team nickname. The Giants and the Burress fiasco causes them too many distractions. Washington in a squeaker.

St. Louis at Seattle

Remnants of the superbowl team of the Seachickens is non existant but they have still enouh to win this one over the Rams who are doing nothing.

late

Chicago at Green Bay

Rodgers will have enough trouble with the Monsters of the Midway. They are up and coming, while the pack is packing it in. There is not enough left from their playoff team to continue winning. Getting rid of the Favre soap opera was a good idea, but their running game is not stellar.

Monday, Sept 14th (yes, two games), late aft

Buffalo at New England

While I would love to see the cheaters lose, I know that Buffalo cannot do it.

late

San Diego at Oakland
predict this score for the tiebreaker

San Diego 31 Oakland 6

Al Davis has wrecked this franchise. Kifkin should never have been fired. Walk over by the Chargers.

I've played catch up before, so...here are a couple of crazy picks:
Pittsburgh
Carolina-Williams over Westbrook in a very close game, Steve Smith is looking loose.
(BTW BaABnG )
Minnesota
Baltimore
Cincinnati-to set the record straight Houshmandzadeh now plays for Seattle, Coles or Henry now has his role, I don't trust McDaniels and think that the Broncos are in disarray.
Indianapolis-I really want Jax to win this game, with Peyton, home and Addai healthy-Brown behind-common sense says Colts.
Houston-Schaub to AJ + Slaton, I might be back on the fence if NY lands Marshall.
Dallas-I don't like Dallas or Williams, but Byrant's still recovering from injuries, Graham and Williams scrabbling into the lineup, and aside from that Bucs QB position is a strange one: I think Leftwich will be good, but a little "deer in the headlights" this game-Cowboys luck out.
New Orleans
Atlanta-too business-like (as said above), gets the job done.
Arizona-SF is improving, but AZ good at winning early in the year, as long as Warner survives.
Washington-very close, NYG receiving corps is a mystery, running game a little 2 dimensional (compared to last year) and D overrated.
Seattle-one game at a time, if this team stays healthy it could do very good things...
Green Bay-this will be one of Driver's 3 good games before he fades-Rodgers and Ryan are underrated.
New England
San Diego 30-6

 ALERT! elanor who do you pick in the Pittsburgh/Tennessee game!!!???
