Heh, a week later and guess what: we had a snow again, though it was just a minor flurry. Still, it's been a chilly week. A co-worker said it best: "It's not a bad day...for November!"

Yes, it is rainy and chilly here tonight, and it does feel like an autumn night - though thankfully no snow.

Rainy and bloody freezing here. (By my standards anyway. Which means it's about 5°C.)

Rain is highly unusual for this time of year where I live...In the parts of the country where it's usual, there's flooding.

It was a chilly walk to work this morning. Even now at noon, it's just +8 C.

Still, this was an unusually warm September. With one more day to go, this will in fact be the warmest September on record for Winnipeg, and the first time that September will have been the warmest month of the year, instead of July or August. It still felt like summer last week; it wasn't until the weekend that fall weather finally showed up.

Heh. It has been cold here - lately with quite a bit of rain. I've been having to wear a jacket at night.

We've endured a wet winter this year, not too cold, I suppose it got down to 10C/50F on the cold days, and we had one frosty morning. But still, I'm looking forward to a long, hot, dry summer

EDIT: Just looked up the stats for winter - coldest day was 8.6C/48F, coldest night was 0.5C/33F, Average for the 3 months - approx. 13C/55F day, and 6C/43F night.

Warmest day was 20C/68F, warmest night was 11.6C/53F.*

To give you guys an idea, it is still early autumn here and it is the first sunny day we've had in a while. It is 53 degrees F at 1400, and supposed to be down around freezing tonight. We had to turn on our furnace over the weekend, and we took out our window air conditioners today, as they were letting in too many cold drafts.

It's interesting, isn't it, what we all consider "cold", depending on what you're used to. I live in a cooler part of Australia, there are a lot of areas that really only have 2 months of winter. I think you'd have a hotter summer, Avatar. My crappy geography puts you around the same latitude as Brisbane which is considered sub-tropical.

Yeah, those northern hemisphere types always make fun of me when I tell them I'm freezing my ass off.

As for summer, average high is 25°C, average low, 15°C. Hot days are usually around the low 30's, but it's our rainy season, so cloudy/rainy days (like today) drop the average. Although our latitude is pretty much sub-tropical, I live over 1,000m above sea level, so we don't get those tropical humid days up here. On the coast it's a different story.

Well in Southern England at present its very dry not alot of rain recently and it hit 23 degrees on Sunday and when the sun is out its quiet warm , but leaves are starting to change colour and drop and the thing I hate the most is the days are getting shorter and by the end of this month the clocks will be changed .

See, now I love winter.
Winter means the +90% humidity is gone.
Winter means daily average highs are in the upper 60s to low 70s.
Winter means average overnight lows in the 50s.
Winter means my windows are flung open and my utilities bill drops $200/month...
Winter means the sun is rising as my day starts, and star gazing at a decent hour is possible.
Winter in north-central Florida = the best time of year.

...too bad it only lasts two weeks, usually in February.
