Lucimay,
Cyndi welcome here. As Duchess said please feel free to drop into any discussion you want; furthermore, start any new discussion you want. The hangar has one of the coolest emoticons in the world and favorites of mine. taraswizard

so far, 2006 hasn't been kind to KW. hope the rest of the year doesn't turn into a hackfest. that would be BAD. wish KW could sue the hackers.

i'm sure danlo will do all he can to ensure the hangar's new home will be safe and sound, but you can only do so much to protect a public message board. <i>Edited by: Moonwatcher at: 1/30/06 6:14 pm

You said it, Matrixman. This is what - the third time in about two weeks the Turks have hit the Watch? ******************************************************

Syl mentioned vbulletin as being a much more secure platform, but you have to pay for it. I'm not familiar with the different message board programs, but I'm all for improved security. I would gladly put up my share to do what's needed to make KW more secure, but if it comes to that, Jay says he'd rather pay the costs himself. He doesn't feel it's right to be charging Watchmembers. Anyway, it's up to Vain in the end. <i></i>

Thankfully not a hacker problem...but is anyone else having an extremely difficult time either logging in at all or staying logged in for more than one screen at a time at the Watch this weekend? ******************************************************

I had some problems like that when I first joined the Watch because I have AOL as my ISP...I wonder if I am having those problems again for the same reason.

Last night I had to sign in seven times in a couple of minutes. This morning I tried three times and it wouldn't take, so I gave up...

It could be AOL problems, Duchess.

On the other hand, when I went to KW this am, I was logged out, which usually doesn't happen. And I saw the following message on the main page: "View topics that suck so badly that not a single person has dared post in them, for fear of being eaten by the Evil Mongoose." The sentence is a link which I have not clicked on.

Seems like another hack job... "Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?"<i></i>

It could be someone's idea of a joke - the link is to a collection of all the posts with 0 responses.

Edit: Apparenty, it is someone's idea of a joke. Jay hacked his own board. "Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?"<i>Edited by: MsMaryMalone  at: 2/6/06 10:36 am

Jay.

I'm doing better with the sign in thing today, but am still having some minor problems, such as it not showing me the posts since last visit (which is usually how I try to navigate the board)...ah well. I'm sure Vain is still working out the post-hacker bugs... ******************************************************

Did you read Vain's post (I think it was in Log In Log Out) about deleting your cache and cookies and relaunching your browser? He seems to think that will help.

Edit: Actually, Vain's fix instructions were in this thread, "Login Problems" in Annoucements and Suggestions. "Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker?"<i>Edited by: MsMaryMalone  at: 2/7/06 12:13 pm
