I have been doing laundry and packing all day. This is my last day off from work until the day we are driving to New York for Highdrake's wedding. :o

It was a challenge packing, and I probably horribly overpacked. It is the time of year when it could be hot or cold, or hot during the day and cold at night, so I had to make sure we had warm weather clothing (jeans and t-shirts) and cold weather clothing (sweaters) for each day. On top of it, with the wedding, I had to make sure we had dress shoes and "nice" clothing - not just for the wedding, but also just in case people want to go out as a group to nice dinners the other nights of the weekend, too. And, of course, as you other ladies know, that means you have to pack undergarments such as slips and nylons that will color coordinate with the clothes (so you are not wearing black undergarments underneath a white lace suit which is a fashion disaster because everyone can see your panties that way).

And since we are going without the children, that meant I got to raid my slinkie nightie drawer...which means slinkie nighties but also the thongs and lace panties and lace gloves and all the rest that go with them. I was just going to pack three sets, one for each night, but I got...carried away and filled half of the big duffle bag with that stuff.

My hub is going to freak out when he sees how big the duffle bag is, but probably will not mind when he finds out that half the stuff is slinkie nighties and matching underwear.

The only things left to pack are my camera and toiletries and medicines - and none of that will take much time or room. :D 8)

I set the kids doing the house work today so I had time to pack. One brushed the cats (who are shedding) and then had to vacumn up the mess. The other is planting the snow peas out in the garden... :)

Later the younger one has a soccer game that we will attend, and then we watch the Red Wings and the Tigers on TV. :D

Today is Staff Appreciation Day here. We're going to have a party this afternoon. Usually we get a gift from the partners, but nothing showed up this year. Ah well, it's usually something that's only marginally useful, but features the firm logo (I'm convinced they put the logo on it so they can write it off the marketing budget ). So if they've decided to forego the gift this year, I'm not going to be terribly upset.

My attorney who's been in India for most of the past four months gave me a gift today, tho -- a pashmina shawl. It's black with strips of embroidery. Bee-you-tee-ful. :)

Now that you mention it, I think we had staff appreciation day here as well, because I overheard one of the sport secretaries saying how some surprise treats were sprung on her. Personally, I had no clue about it -- was too busy working. :P

Well yesterday I went i partook in my 9th Marathon :happyrun: (not the London one as its hard to get into it) Stratford upon Avon where Shakespear was born. It was warm at 18 degrees C which is hot enough when you are running for nearly 4 hours. I finished in a time of 3 Hours and 46 minutes not a PB for me but not the slowest I have done either. Out of all the marathons Ive done it was my 3rd fastest so that will do me . A bit stiff today and extremly tired but content.

Went with my husband on Friday morning so he could get done.

Hope to get the results back soon.

Yes, it has been a rough year healthwise for my family. :(

 I was squirming every which way just reading that article.

Hope you (and your husband) find the results to your liking.
