Man, I'm, sort of, freaking out at the Fantasy Fanatics site for a few reasons. One is that Tampa Bay sportsanchor, Rob Shaw, seems to have retreated along with his entoruage to his Sportz website. That takes away something like 70% of the baseball league players and 60% of the experts. Dam it! I should just start a Fantasy Sports site for Fantasy Lit fans! So I don't know if our Fantasy Fanatics league will fill up in time. There is a solution, and I think I'll email the proposal to the managers who have signed up at Fanatics, soon: kinslaughterer has a ten man mixed league at ESPN that needs 3 more teams, so i'm thinking we should all move over there...

I'm also freaked for two other reasons, 1. The pages are loading too slowly, perhaps discouraging users and 2. I can't get to the site at all right now. I think I know why-I've been battling a virsus that's both in my comp and browser (Exploder, of course ) and I'm currently on a basic browser. Not only that but I can't, currently, download Windows Live for messaging or email. I think the Fanatics site doesn't recognize my browser and hotmail and that's why it keeps kicking me out. Tomorrow I'm doing a factory restore and a whole bunch of technical stuff, cataloging and stuff to flush the virus out, so I should be able to download Firefox and Live and get back in tomorrow by afternoon, hopefully... :box:

Well, the Fanatics board is actually coming back to life, technically with at least 3 new ads-so somebody's been working there. Maybe we should be a little more patient. I only know 2 of the 4 managers in the Fanatics league: my RL friend Mike and you. Kinslaughter is a member of the Watch and Hangar so you'd be more than welcome. I joined Kin's league over a week ago because he asked me and also asked me to invite friends-the URL pasting instructions for joing his league have been pasted at the Fanatics league board.

You got Ramirez! Good job-everybody's switching from Pujols to Ramirez all of a sudden. (I'd pick Morneau next) I did my 5th mock draft in the 8th position-it was a lot of fun-I think we were all a little toasted. I concentrated on strong pitching and OF and took a few gambles-

SP-Halladay
Oswalt
Volquez
Verlander
Maine

RP-Soria
Marmol

OF-Sizemore
Markakis
Ordonez

1B-Morneau

It was different, that's for sure.

Verlander is supposedly looking great in spring training. If that is Magglio Ordonez, you cannot go wrong with him, provided he stays healthy (which he has by and large, most of the time he has been with the Tigers). Great hitter who usually ends up above .300, underrated fielder who rarely makes errors. Really slow base runner, though, so do not expect many steals.

I cannot comment on non-Tigers players, as I have not had time to follow any other teams at their training camps this year.

Verlander had an awesome outing yesterday! We had our combined Fanatics/Kinslaughterer (he's the commish) draft Saturday and I really like my team-I don't know what happened with Cleburne he autodrafted and got 5 of the 10 best pitchers! His team is, somehow, frikin' awsome! (but has no relievers). I have Lincecum and Webb so that's like 40 wins and 500 bizzillion strike outs. Didn't get Reyes but did get "the poor man's Reyes" in Ellsbury, who could steal 50 bases. Got ManRam, Abreu and Wright as well. My buddy Mike (Amiko here) got the two best relivers in baseball in Papelbon and Nathan. Sorry duchy-no Tigers in this draft Ordonez went just before ManRam...My Yahoo! public draft is set for tomorrow-I should do a mock, then again maybe I've done enough.

I'm very psyched for baseball and the Big Dance--Lobos, BTW, beat Nebraska in the NIT last night and travel to Indiana to play Notre Dame next on Thursday. I'm wearing my new Albuquerque Isotopes hat and Avalance t-shirt and feeling good.

Did two brackets in Yahoo! and one in the Albq. Journal-have UNC winning in each and picked, probably 83% favorites-if I have anything that resembles a 'cinderella' it's Fla. St. (don't tell Pam :P )

I should have--I mocked the weirdest team ever, took Ryan Howard first and look at this strange outfield:
B. J. Upton
Ichiro
Vernon Wells
WTF!? :P

I'm trying to give you help in relief, but honestly I'm getting the better deal-I need to go cancel it-Mike just did a league projection and says I'm favored to win it all  <HUGE GRIN!!> . So I, probably, shouldn't touch anything.

That was a weird outfield, but my god-between Upton and Ichiro that's 85 projected steals! My draft is at 2 today and I'm targeting Fontenot at 2B and O. Cabrera at SS as big sleepers so I'll pick all the big guys around them.

Yes, Verlander did have a great start his last time out in spring training. The Tigers season depends upon him rebounding from a terrible season last year, and upon second year pitcher Armando Gallaraga, who has been pitching in the World Baseball Classic for Venezuela, pitching as well as he did as a rookie. If they do well, we will have at least a chance to win every two games out of five. It would be good if Bonderman is healthy enough to recover and pitch well this year, too, after a huge surgery last season following the discovery of a life threatening medical condition. He is young enough that hopefully his age will be on his side and he will be OK. To even have a 50-50 chance from a third starter would be a positive. Our other starters - especially Dontrelle "Train Wreck" Willis and Nate "the Not-So-Great" Robertson - all suck rotten eggs, and are pretty much guaranteed losses everytime they will start.

We also picked up some guy named Jackson from the Tamp Bay Rays for a really promising young outfielder. The Tampa fans seemingly did not like him - I hope he will be OK, but I have the feeling (after seeing Tampa fans' comments about Jackson) that I would rather have the young outfielder back. :(

Edwin Jackson? A very wishy-washy pitcher who got lucky last year at 14-11 the guy has a career 5.15 ERA, nothing to write home about.

In my second draft I got Reyes, Youklis and Rios, among others and my starters are blistering!
Johan Santana
Dan Haren
John Lester
Eric Bedard
John Maine

look at my relivers!
Soria
Fuentes
Qualls

awesome!

Guess what duchy?-I picked up smiley Placido on my last pick-shame he's dropped so low but his #s are prefectly good-.300 70/70...
