She's lucky to have the two of you at such a difficult time in her life (and vice versa).

Well...I received the call at 1:15 this afternoon, telling me my uncle passed at 11:15 this morning. I have yet to hear from my aunt, though she is deaf and we only communicate via email. She may not have gotten to a computer since the passing.

I still have no idea what help she'll need. Whether she'll give him a Jewish send-off, even though she and their sons are Roman Catholic, or if he even wanted any sort of send off at all. I hope to hear something soon...

...I guess I'm going to do my dissapearing act from 1PM tomorrow to 4 or 5 Friday, as they're going to saw out the vent then. The electric floor mats go in tomorrow as well-then the rest of the sheetrock taping and plastering. Next week will be all floor tiling, final electric and the painting will begin. I better watch last weeks LOST tonight or I won't know what's happening at the motel...

Finally, I can relax.
I just heard from my aunt.
Apparently my uncle wanted nothing, but a graveside military ceremony at the Florida National Cemetary in Bushnell, which will be in about two weeks.
My aunt's sister lives nearby, so I don't expect to be needed too much.

Now...to tell my sister she can go ahead with her kidney biopsy on Friday (no...it never ends...).

Meanwhile, our May long weekend is here!

I'm into the second week of my five week's holidays, done alot of reading and gardening, now I've got two rugby league games, one rugby union game and one soccer game (FA cup final) to watch tonight. Beer and snack food all lined up, let the sport begin!

...recuperating from last minute decision yesterday to drive two hours each way to Orlando for the Elvis Costello/The Police show at the arena...

Mr. Sunshine and I are both a bit under the weather right now with seasonal allergies. We spent most of the afternoon (before I came into work anyway) sneezing and snorting and sniffing at each other, with plenty of eye rubbing and nose blowing.

We're supposed to have more monster storms rumbling through tomorrow - lets' all hope we keep our power this time around! There are still thousands of people in this area who still do nto have any power after the stprms on last Sunday and Monday.

I should add, though, that we have thus far been spared the horrible flooding and tornados that other Midwest states such as Wisconsin have suffered. And that is a blessing!

I just came back to work from lunch, and narrowly avoided a massive downpour, heh.

Apparently there's a tornado watch in effect for Winnipeg...which is surreal, because we just don't get tornados. A funnel cloud was spotted north of the city earlier today.

The weather has been insane last winter and this spring and now this early summer.
