Tonight in Chicago the Tigers won their second game.

But it was a cold and rainy night, and Detroit's starting pitcher Dontrelle Willis had a slip and fall on the pitching mound in the first inning and got hurt. If anyone sees that in sports highlights anywhere, know that is pretty much what happened to me when I blew out my knee last year! Feet went right out from under me, and the right knee got hyperextended as I came down. Hope Willis did nto rip up things in his knee in his accident, the way I did!

After a horrible weekend at the Cell in Chicago, Tigers bats finally came to life last night in a come from behind victory at home! Will Tigers finally get on track this year? I sure hope so!

See??? I'm not the only person who thinks that Bobby Jenks, the White Sox closer has incredibly fugly face fur!!!

Jonesing for a killer outfield! No, nothing to do with your family duchy, but it has to do with your team somewhat. I've been real patient (well, you should be at the very beginning of the season) with my Fantasy Fanatics team the NM A-Bombers. We're not doing all that well right now, but we're ready to improve big time. I've got Granderson, Moises Alou and Shane Victoriano (a definate stolen base threat) all ready to come off the DL. We start 5 outfielders, so this is a big key to success, They will join Vlad Guerrero and Gary Shefield and be backed up by Xavier Nady and Gary Matthews Jr. I can't wait!

Grandy's hand is a lot better - he got hit by a pitch in a spring training game, and something was broken. He is expected to do a brief rehab stint in the minors (probably with the Western Michigan White Caps) and be back in a week or two.

We need Curtis Granderson back!

Danlo, did you know he is a bright and articulate young man as well as being a gifted baseball player? When the Tigers wanted to draft him when he was a junior at college, he told them he intended to finish his degree before playing pro ball, and if that was a problem not to even bother drafting him? He did finish up that degree, too!

Local institutions (like the Henry Ford Museum) sometimes have him come in and give lectures on topics such as Jackie Robinson and the integration of pro baseball.

He does a ton of community service, too.

Just a fantastic human being.

In a way I'm sorta glad I missed Verlander during my two fantasy drafts. What the hell is the matter with him right now?

Granderson did some rehab work with Western Michigan, and has now played a game or two with the AAA Toledo Mudhens - supposedly he looked great with the Hens, but says his legs are a bit sore. So maybe he will be back in the D in about a week...

Danlo, I am sure that you know that Grandy is back, and playing quite well.

Da Boyz are playing much better, and we are no longer the worst team in the AL. But we're still down towards the bottom.

We've played two really good games against the Angels over the past two nights/days. Lost one, won one - and even the close loss against a team this good made me happy. It's good to see the Tigers back on track.

It is suddenly turning into a very good day.

The Tigers found another team foolish enough to take the Dark Lord of the Sith off of their hands. Good by Grilli. It sucked knowing you. I will never forget or forgive some of your appearances on the pitching mound - like the time you gave up three runs in three pitches.

Hope you do better in Denver - except whenever you play against us, of course.

Tampa Bay Rays. Perenial laughing stock of the league in competition for first place in the AL East. If it were up to me we'd end the season right freaking now. However I'm willing to give the fellas a chance to make this ENTIRE season one worth remembering.

Well another ugly loss for the Tigers - another shut out for the team that every talking head in the world said would be able to "score at will" this season. Can we get our great young starting pitchers back from those awful trades last winter?

At least the Tigers have not resorted to digusting bat tricks with anatomically correct blow up dolls in their club house to inspire better hitting like a low class division rival who will remain nameless.
