I watched the beginning of the Sun's game and (even though they fell apart in the 2nd half-hey it's only their 2nd game!) man I was knocked out! With a healthy, looking, Grant Hill in their lineup they look awesome with Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire, Shawn Marion, Raja Bell and Barbosa and Diaw off the bench. Damm this team is stacked-it's a great time to be a Phoenix fan!

Pistons seem to be off to a good start this year, too. Even if they are in the junior varsity part of the league.

Suns/Spurs starts today in San Antonio-I take back everything I said about Shaq. Let's FLATTEN 'em boys!!!!!!!!!!

I'm secretly rooting for the Lakers and Celtics. The Lakers just because they are playing the Suns archeminie and the Celtics just because I want to see KG in the championship. Don't tell my Dad-He and I were massive Knicks fans and those two teams were New York's archeminies way back when...

My husband is certainly rooting for his beloved Lakers (and exhausting himself staying up late night after night to watch them play).

Jerry West has called this year's MVP, Kobe Bryant, a "closer" and others say he has improved all those around him. Pau Gasol provides not only a big presence but can consistently score and rebound in double figures. He may have been the best mid-season acquisition in the West, and that's quite a compliment when you throw him in with the likes of Shaq and Jason Kidd. Heck even Lamar Odom is coming on. Then you have The Three Amigos with the multi-talented Kevin Garnett and hot shooting Ray Allen joining Captain Paul Pierce in Boston. Due, in part, to these two trades the Celtics have broken the record for a single season turnaround.

Some would say that any team that beats the reigning Champion Spurs will cruise during these finals and that the West is just too strong, but tell that to the Pistons and the Heat. If Rasha Rondo keeps up his level of play, Perkins keeps up his defensive efforts and Allen stays out of his earlier funk I think Boston has a chance, or, at least will make it interesting. I've always dreamed of seeing Garnett in the finals, maybe not on the dreaded Celtics, but I'll take what I can get.

Well, after that remarkable comeback last night it seems the Celts have LA in a death lock-they sure played like crap in the first half-I mean absolute crap.

I respect Kobe as a player, as for the Colorado incident I don't know if anyone has come to any definite conclusion, or up with any definite proof. I'm not defending Bryant, but look how the Duke lacrosse scandal shook out, there have been a number of cases where people have tried to frame celebrities. I'm not saying he's innocent, just pointing a few things out.

I think that teams have have enough of this bling/thug attitude. Stern maybe not doing enough but the thugs seem to be congealing on certain teams and those teams, such as New York and Portland, have been shaking out those who don't shape up in favor of a youth movement. Actually, Allen Iverson-who was the embodiment of this image-seems to have dropped the image once he left for Denver and left his "posse" behind in Philly.

As to the Donaghy accusations I think about 30 percent are true and certain playoffs games are rigged and certain key players are protected. Certain key players aren't protected because of their history, Rasheed Wallace and Dennis Rodman come to mind. I had heard allegations towards Jordan back then, but am still on the fence. I was a King fan during that series and not only began to despise Robert Horry for the first time and I swore the series was completely rigged against Sacramento because they were a much smaller market than LA.
I watched the Heat/Spurs championship with a very close eye because of it and while one of two calls might have been questionable, the rest were very justified as Wade was being highly aggressive in attacking the basket
