Finally getting in some reading time this weekend, so I have finished up Donaldson's Lord Foul's Bane and have reread the first chunk of The Illearth War. I have paused in the chapter break right before "Runnik's Tale" to reread Gildenfire before finishing up that novel.

I am still trying to get both sets of Chrons plus Runes reread before I obtain and start reading Fatal Revanant. 8)

I have also been pulling the house apart looking for all of the Earthsea books by LeGuin just in case the group read goes that far. :) So far I have located all of them other than my favorite, Tombs of Atuan. I will keep looking. That one might be in my younger son's room - the only place I haven't looked yet.

Menolly is lucky in being able to experience Earthsea for the first time. :D 8)

I am finally cruising with the Chrons. Only a few chapters left of Power That Preserves and I will be done with the First Chonicles of Thomas Covenant.

I will then take a brief Donaldson break to read the new Naomi Novik book, then back in the saddle again with The Wounded Land.

I will get the SRD reread doen before reading Fatal Revanant - I will I will I will.

Tithe by Holly Black. I liked it alot, YA fantasy, and very sensual (sic). War between the Unseelie and Seelie Courts, with sacrifices of mortals in the balance.

I did read Murphy's Urban Shaman. The main character is half Irish and half Cherokee. She is a Seattle police officer. A should-have-been-fatal wound brings out her supressed shaman powers of healing. Celtic gods (the Wild Hunt) are trying to trash Seattle and she has to try to protect her city from them. 8)

I love the premise, by the way. I wish Native American mythology was incorporated in more fantasy. (Patricia Briggs also uses it in her Mercedes Thompson series as does P. R. Frost in her Tess Noncoire series).

Some wild stuff, but good enough that I ordered the second and third books from Amazon. 8)

In the meantime, waiting for them to arrive, I think I will read a mystery or history book or two. 8)

I've been reading the two follow ups to Urban Shaman by C. E. Murphy, Thunderbird Falls and Coyote Dreams. I have also read Dragon's Fire by the McCaffreys. :pam:

Some of Tanya Huff's Blood books - urban fantasy with fun characters set in Toronto. 8)

I remember seeing them years ago, but have not read any. I have read the "tribute" to them in Maureen Birmbaum, Barbarian Swordsperson, which gently mocks many well known fantasy series. :D
