Williams' The War of the Flowers. So far, so good (50 pages). For once, a F/SF author manages to talk about drugs and rock without sounding like a complete dork. ________________

I think I am going to read that soon, Syl.

I decided to read something light...so I have picked up a book by Mercedes Lackey...a book called Joust about dragon knights, which seems be somewhat inspired by ancient Egypt... ******************************************************

At the moment I am reading the Legends II short stories edited by Robert Silverberg.

Also recently finished "Fool's Fate" by Robin Hobb.

Both excellent reads Vote in the Fantasy Author Showdown<i></i>

Susie, you must be either European or an Aussie.
Neither of those books have been released here in the US yet.
Stormking, I have not tried that author...how do you like the book? Good read? ******************************************************

I have been reading Sean Russel Swans War trilogy (frist book - the name escapes me). It is pretty good so far. Has an excellent review on back cover by our beloved SRD! Cripple but free; I was blind all the time I was learning to see<i></i>

I've started Paladin of Souls while I wait to get 'To Green Angel Tower: Siege'. After Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn I'll be reading War of the Flowers. I don't know what I'll move onto next... <i></i>

I finished up C.S. Lewis's The Screwtape Letters last night, and if I find a bit more energy later on today I would like to post a quote or two...

I started reading Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy today...I have been meaning to for about a year, given how much MsMary and Foamy like them. So far I am really enjoying them. I really like the idea of the daemons, a soul/spirit in animal form that is bonded to every human...

Wow, Murrin, you've been waiting for that book to come for a long time!!
I finished The Amber Spyglass last night, and I have to say that I very much enjoyed the Phillip Pullman series. Very unusual, and very cool -- and with a bittersweet ending... There is a tiny little companion book called Lyra's Oxford which consists mainly of a short story, and that will be my next read...
After that I hope to read some Simmons and LeGuin short stories...and Legends 2 which FINALLY came out in the USA!!! I can't wait to read the Martin and Gaiman stories in particular. ******************************************************

I finished the little book of Le Guin stories, Changing Planes, and will embark on Legends 2 as soon as I get the chance.
I have been concentrating a lot of my energy and spare time on trying to catch up with the group read over at Kevin's Watch the last few days. I'm nearly there. ******************************************************

Meanwhile, I've reread aSoIaF up to aSoS:Part 2, which I'll start today... ------------------

'You take that back!'
'Where is your Todd now?' *laughs evilly*"<i></i>
