Well, at least this is one hurricaine MsMary will miss.
Sheesh, I am tired tonight. And I have to go get my son's history lesson together for the morning. The kid is like a monstrous sponge who immediately absorbs everything I toss at him, and begs for more.
So we have finshed the book which was an overview of the Civil War. He is in the middle of the book I gave him to supplement that book, the wonderful historical novel Gods and Generals. We are in the middle of watching the wonderful Ken Burns documentary miniseries, The Civil War. Tomorrow we will read some of Walt Whitman's poems that he wrote during the Civil War and to mourn Lincoln's death. We will also read one of the two Civil War chapters in the very fun historical book called What If??? where the world's leading historians look at turning points in world history and ask how things might have shaken out if things had gone a bit differently. Then we will start a great little book called April, 1865 - The Month That Saved America.
All this and we are halfway through The Iliad, storming right along in astronomy, and have gotten a chapter of algebra nearly done.
No wonder I am tired.
Good thing I have a long weekend and visit to my older son coming up!!! ******************************************************
