Well, tomorrow is the day folks. I will be out of here for a couple of days. I just hope my husband manages to calm himself down. ******************************************************

Quote:Hey, guess what? I usually have my monitor set to 1024x768, but I switched to 800x600 resolution and the text here is so much clearer now! Either my monitor is a piece of crap, or the Hangar isn't optimized to display text at 1024x768.

Damn...I never even thought of that. My res is 1152x864. Bet that makes a difference. With the background tiling too. Oh well, I'll have to live with it. Too lazy to change settings every time.

I still think we should go for darker backgrounds though to contrast the menu text better.

Duchess, good luck, be safe and have fun.

See you when you get back.

Right sorry---I need to get my new comp quickly---probably my fault my monitor's tiny so it's hard to see how images and things take at 1024x768. In September I'm going to totally modernize--new Dell with large screen, Qwest bundle: phone, DSL, Direct TV. *****

Well you do realize this is all originating out of a very funky Windows ME Compaq Presario 2000 with an exploded Earthlink host page from Albuquerque New Mexico! *****

I'm not saying you don't need or deserve it, (although I had no idea ), just wish I could have a big upgrade.

Here it is (your upgrade )!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Symphony of Destruction
Megadeth
You take a mortal man,
And put him in control
Watch him become a god,
Watch peoples heads a'roll
A'roll...

/Chorus/
Just like the Pied Piper
Led rats through the streets
We dance like marionettes,
Swaying to the Symphony...
Of Destruction

Acting like a robot,
Its metal brain corrodes.
You try to take its pulse,
Before the head explodes.
Explodes...

/Chorus/

The earth starts to rumble
World powers fall
A'warring for the heavens,
A peaceful man stands tall
Tall...

/Chorus/

Unfortunately, listing to megadeath is not going to get me a home internet connection.

Well, my son is off at school. I miss him so much right now. Part of my heart is gone. I will probably alternate either posting like a madwoman or not posting at all for a few days until I settle down emotionally. ******************************************************

Aah Duchess.

Now you need to learn to enjoy the peace and quiet again...although with pets and other son, maybe that's still a little while off.

It's been an intense few days...moving my son out of state for school...all three of us here at home miss him like crazy...and a dear friend of mine had his father pass away last week. My friend had transferred to another job hundreds of miles away in June and works midnights there so hasn't had much of a chance to make any new friends out there yet. So he had to face this completely alone, hundreds of miles from friends and family. I would give nearly anything to be able to give him a big hug right now.

My son has a very cool roommate and I already have first dibs on all of his honors college muti-cultural class books (all of them are meaty novels dealing with social change and upheaval in various countries all around the world) and some of his history books (Penguin classics about Confucius and other philosophers). And we have been exchanging tons of emails every day. ******************************************************

I don't know if I could stand all the emotional hills and valleys of parenthood, duchess. I'm glad for my relatively dull and quiet bachelor existence.

Believe me, when the little one is launched in a few years, I plan on taking a lot of time for myself to have a quiet life - catching up on movies and TV shows I have been wanting to watch, catching up with my TBR pile, chasing my husband naked through the house on a daily basis, etc. There is alot to be said for a quiet bachelor life. ******************************************************
