I wish I could have a Kiln person like in David Brin's book, Earthy.
You guys will be sick of me by the end of the week. I will probably be on MSN messenger every night.
It is snowing this morning! Huge, huge, huge white flakes! It is so pretty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We weren't even supposed to get snow today, but it is very beautiful. ******************************************************

Hail Metadron!

Had a great weekend with Damelon. It is SO nice being able to talk with someone who likes so many of the same things I like...the bookstores were a lot of fun! Elohimfest will be wonderful!

I have to go try to get all of my holiday shopping done today...my sister called and my father is in the hospital down south with influenza and pneumonia, and I might have to head down there for a few days, and wish to get all of my errands out of the way first in case I do go down there...I am very glad that he has finally agreed to move in with one of us...just very sad that it had to come down to being so sick to get him to do so ...so since my sister who lives closest to him (the one he agreed to live with) has just started her new job and can't get time off, I might head down there to move him to her house...and if I do this I might not get much advanced notice, so if I vanish into thin air, that is what I will be up to...didn't want anyone to worry... ******************************************************

I will have those couple of extra days in New Mexico after we get back from Canyon de Chelly -- Danlo, we've GOT to go to the bookstore together!
I have most of my errands done...tonight after my son's choir concert I will try to get the rest of the bills paid and then get the cards ready to go out...

Yes, we had a fun weekend. I think both Damelon and I summarized it at the Watch, but here goes:

He got in on the train Friday night. There is a glorious seafood restaurant in the elegant old Ann Arbor train station, next to the ugly and functional new Ann Arbor train station. So we went there for dinner. Calibaby and Damelon got locally caught Great Lakes fish and I had lobster ravioli. We sipped hot chocolate and coffee after dinner and relaxed.
We then drove around town a bit so Damelon could see part of the University of Michigan and downtown Ann Arbor. We finally found a parking spot and went to the Firefly jazz club and listened to the music for awhile and sipped hot spiced apple cider. The band they had playing was pretty good...
We then came home and Damelon and I got onto one of my IM services and talked to Highdrake and Furl's Fire for awhile...I think we made them laugh, because I changed my name to Damelon OR Duchess so they had to guess which of us was saying what.
In the morning we made up a big breakfast and then Damelon and I headed into town. We went to two big bookstores (we bought each other books for Christmas), and then went walking in a nice park along the Huron River. Damelon asked if one of the houses up on the big bluff overlooking the river was a Frank Lloyd Wright design, and I have since found out that it is indeed. It was pretty cold, so when our coffee and hot chocolate was gone we went back to the car, I drove him around town a bit more (he wanted to see the sports stadiums), and then we went home. His hands were starting to crack and bleed a bit from the cold, so I took care of them, fed him, and then he took a nap to some soothing Ottmar Liebert music.
In the evening we went to Detroit with Calibaby. We went out to dinner at a very good Greek restaurant in Greektown called the Pegasus Taverna. We got flaming cheese. OPA!!! We then went to see the traveling company of the broadway play The Producers, which was a lot of fun. When we got home we talked to Highdrake awhile on IM, then turned in...
On Sunday morning we went outside for awhile to enjoy the falling snow, and then we went out to breakfast at a nice little bakery/restaurant in Ann Arbor called Angelo's. The food there is pretty good. We then went to a very good deli called Zingerman's to get Damelon some good food for the train. The deli also carried little gourmet goodies from all over the world, and I think he enjoyed looking around. To give you an idea of the quality of this particular deli, they import their chaddar cheese from the town called Cheddar in England! Then it was time for the train ride home... ******************************************************
