I think it has a lot of potential. A bunch of my friends from another forum have really taken to it, being geeky techy types.

Not so my RL friends. They joined, but they don't seem to know quite what to do with it yet.

Part of the problem is that I can't get to it from here at work. I get a page saying "your browser is no longer supported", yet I would suppose we're running the most recent version of Exploder. Altho maybe not -- I just checked the version and it says we're using IE 7. Isn't there an IE 10 or something now?

Eh, I can't get to any of that stuff from work. They block a ridiculous number of sites (including sites I could actually use for work!).

yes, same here. work in a pharmacy and we laugh hysterically when we find out that sites such as ones that identify pills have been blocked! dumdums!

It's the stupid site blocking software that can't tell the difference between a useful site and a time-wasting site.

I can get useful sites unblocked on a case by case basis (and have, with several). On the other hand, I could spend my whole day doing that and still not be able to get to all the sites I could use for my work. So many times I just give up and find the info I need at home, than email it to myself.

and if you really want to be naughty at work, you can work your way around the blockers anyway.

one year when the Red Wings were in the Stanley Cup finals, they blocked all sports sites, probably thinking they would get more productive employees as a result. instead they just got super angry employees who discovered they could keep abreast of the game scores through pretty much any Canadian news site. if they had not blocked the sports sites, people would have spent half a minute here or there checking on the scores. instead they got people spending a lot more time searching for the scores on non-sports sites, sneaking out to watch snippets of the game on televisions in lobbeys to get the scores, etc.

That sounds like my kids getting around being on some instant messaging at school (forget if it was AIM or Yahoo) back when they were in middle school by going to the UK website for it.
