Yeah, I hate that part. It's like I tell the cat every day when I leave: "Gotta go to work and make the monies, and keep us all in kibble." :)

It's going to be a major struggle working a "regular" job with the World Cup on  - I can't stop watching it, and it's not the best time in Oz... 1st game starts 9.30pm, 2nd 12 midnight, and 3rd 4.30am.

Australia plays Germany 4.30am Monday - and I can't miss it! Brings back memories of a newborn... :faint:

Implement the age old advice regarding newborns then, Stevie.
When "baby" sleeps, "mom" sleeps. ;)
If the family will let you, sleep after spending a little time with them after dinner, so you don't harm yourself with little or no sleep.

Enjoy the World Cup!

 Bastard! I was rootin' for SA and all!

I don't know if it's my Aussie coloured glasses, but in my opinion, Germany has been the stand out team of the World Cup so far...

SA v Uruguay tonight (well, 4.30am again my time...) - go SA! Uruguay are boring boring boring - so I'm going for the fresh excitement of SA!

And for your enjoyment, here's a dive from an Italian player to rival all dives...

I'm half Italian, but about ready to renounce my heritage!

Quite a dive by a Portuguese player against the Ivory Coast yesterday. And the dumbbell ref gave a yellow card to the Ivory Coast player! :td:

As much as a dive artist as Crosby in the NHL!

Yeah, Christiano Ronaldo is one of the worst offenders in the game - it annoys the hell out of me. It was pleasing to see 2 Germans get yellow cards for diving...

So Av, 3-0 loss to Uruguay, almost as bad as the Oz loss!

Sheesh, we was thrashed. Don't think the goalie deserved a red card, but even without it, we played a terrible game. Slim chance of getting through the first round now...Too much depends on what the others in the group do, and we have to beat France...Not expecting much...

Wish you could take this to the Ice Dome--oh well any posting on the Hangar is welcome posting. (I only root for Portugal) Don't know what I'm doing today, probably enjoying my Grace before I have to ship her off to summer K-3 school and her after school program on July the 2nd. Jeez 8 to 5 or 6 o'clock? I feel like I'll never see her again! I've lost my baby!

I don't go into the Ice Dome...it's cold enough here right now as it is.

(Portugal surprisingly drew 0-0 in an uninspiring game against Cotê d'Ivoire couple of days ago.)

I hardly ever get to see my 21 year old. He works as much or more than I do - as does the 17 year old. :( :( :(

And sure Danlo - I will start a Wold Cup thread. 8)
edited:
WC thread made and stickied until the Cup is over.

And CPAP machine update:

Really glad Fist is there for encouragement and advise!

I make it through the whole night about twice a week now. I cannot stand to wear it about another two nights- usually because my nose is so runny from seasonal allergies. The rest of the nights I manage to make it through a few hours, then the mask shifts when I roll over, and cold air starts blowing on my face and wakes me up. At that point I usually pull it off in a blind fury and toss it off the side of the bed and roll over and go back to sleep.

I wonder, is there a mask with a different design, Duchess? Does the CPAP just give you more oxygen, or does it do something else as well? My aunt pulls around an oxygen tank; her "mask" is two nubbins on the end of a flexible tube. The nubbins sort of clip into her nostrils. Heck, you're a nurse -- I'm sure you know better than I do what I'm talking about....

I've been doing some tossing and turning lately, despite the new comfy mattress setup. I bought one of those memory foam pillows at IKEA and have been trying to get used to sleeping on it. But I think the foam gets too hot for me. Plus I fall asleep on my side, then roll over onto my back, for which the "side sleeper" side of the pillow is kind of uncomfortable. I've been waking up a lot to shift pillows around. :( I switched back to regular pillows a couple of nights ago and the middle-of-the-night flailing about has seemed to ease up.
