Last night I went to the Celtic Ireland pavilion of Folklorama, our city's annual multicultural festival. It was the first time I checked it out, in all the years I've been here. The Celtic pavilion was good, though it was standing room only by the time I got there. A show was put on by a local Irish dance troupe, along with a performance by local fiddler Sierra Noble. After the show, I grabbed a sausage and meat pie for supper before going home. Forgot to ask them what kind of sausage it was, but it was yummy.

Awesome, but also a harbinger of severe thunderstorms (or tornados). Only had time for a few shots before I felt the first raindrops. Today was the hottest day of the year (so far) - I think we peaked around 34 Celsius - and it was a very muggy heat. Hadn't had any precipitation since last weekend, so I guess Mother Nature's gonna make up for it in a big way tonight. I went to the library right after work today and stayed there until closing time, relaxing in the air conditioning. That's one of the benefits of living downtown I'd hate to give up: being close to lots of air-conditioned public places.

That's awesome. I love clouds. My screensaver simulates stop-motion cloud cinematography.

Starting to warm up a bit here , daytime highs are hitting 20°C on a good day. Even started to wear one jersey less.

It has been downright hot here lately. After a delightful summer where many days had highs in the sixties, seventies, and low eighties (F) last weekend was horribly hot and humid - highs in the ninties with corresponding humidity. We had some storms, which lowered both the heat and humidity, but this coming weekend is forecast to be hellish again, with highs around or over ninety and high humidity.

At least where I live when it's hot it's a dry heat.

I have been out in the deserts in the US West enough to know that there is a ginormous difference between wet hot and dry hot - and dry hot is much more comfortable!

Absolutely, a dry heat is much more bearable. I know I really shouldn't complain about the heat after the cold spring and summer we've had, but did it have to be 90% humid? (Shakes fist at indifferent universe.)

Less hot can feel worse when it's humid than more hot does when it's dry. Personally when it starts going over 30°C I'm into the shade anyway. (Still, at least when it's dry the shade helps a little.)

Well, the most interesting event for me was that I discovered close to $3000 had been mistakenly transferred to my bank account. I went to the bank and alerted them to this huge irregularity, and the amount has now been removed. For a little while there, I had lots of extra lunch money!
