I'll be, pretty much, off the comp for the next 4 days, just put Thor in the Kennel and talked to the neighbor about the cat and watering. Elora Grace is going to spend the long weekend with her godparents and their girls-one of which is our goddaughter. I'm just about to pack her things and fix her carseat, then Tam and I are on the road! be safe!

Work is kicking my butt this week, and our good computer stopped working and was taken away to the shop this morning. I am on our nearly ten year old computer, which is barely usable for anything besides reading email.

So:
a. I might not be around much until either work settles down or the better computer is fixed (and neither thing is predictable at this point in time)

and

b. any help in moving the last handful of threads from the old board to here in the science fiction forum would be absolutely great and very much appreciated!

and

c. I remove spam threads at least once or twice a day - since I will probably not be able to be here as much as usual, please everyone keep out a sharp eye for spam!

Hopefully work will settle down and my good computer will be returned in working condition very soon!

Hope the computer repair bill won't be too costly for you, duchess. Not saying repair guys are shady, just that when a computer stops working, anything could be the cause (including the ghost of Elvis).

My son is working today, so I am using his laptop. Trying to use our old computer is nearly unbearable. All of the USB ports (including the ones to the keyboard and mouse) on the new computer stopped working. the repair guy said the hardware is clean, and that it is a windows issue. They will be backing up our hard drive in an attempt to save the data and reinstalling windows. I am not sure how long that will take.

Thank goodness this work week is over and I managed to survive until my day off. I am really glad I will not have to live through that week again!

Just checking in. I've been busy with work - was asked to go from per diem to part time, so I have to consistently work 40hrs/2 wks. (Before, I was working that and more, but could take off whenever I want - now I have to either work time off around my schedule or apply for personal leave). And I have also been overwhelmed with my volunteer work - we had a crisis in the ranks and it took over my life.

On the knee front, I went to the doctor and he says I'm healing well. But he still hasn't cleared me to dance.

I was talking to Neo and Menolly on MSN last night and realized I hadn't been over here in awhile. Life is nutty as usual and any free online time I've had I've been spending on the Watch...Stephen's thread has been experiencing new life these days.

Brooke is home for the summer, and we are all happy she's back, we've missed her. Her "soul mate" will be arriving next weekend for the summer as well. Myles is a good guy, had a horrible childhood (he has no idea who is father is, and his mother was/is a meth/crack addict...he grew up bouncing from foster home to foster home) But, he hasn't let any of that stop him from getting a good education and rising above his misfortunes. He's currently a Humanities major at Berkeley, where Brooke met him. And since he didn't have anywhere special to go for the summer, I suggested that Brooke invite him to come here, which of course made her day...hehehe.

My mom is doing beautifully, is walking now with a walker! She's very happy about that. Spring has finally sprung here on the Mountain, the snow pack is almost gone, and we are seeing fawns and other baby animals. I just love Spring, the season of new birth.

Things are fine on my front. Tired of this cold spring/summer we've been having, though. I mean, I still have the heat turned on in my apartment. In June. That's just wrong. (Yeah, I know, once summer really shows up, I'll be grumbling about the heat.)
