For that question to be answered, I think we need to know how devoted Church goers view the world. Does their willingness to support torture of suspected terrorists have anything to do with the terrorists' own religious beliefs? Terrorists these days are most readily associated with fanatical Muslims. So do very devout Christians view the torture of such people as being justified because it's within the context of a greater "holy" struggle between two opposing faiths? I don't know. But that's my hunch at the moment. Now, this does lead to the question: how would devout Christians feel about suspected terrorists who were Christian? Would there be any difference in their attitude?
