As soon as Favre was released from his contract with the Jets, which I believe was around 4-28 rumors started flying around sports blogs that Denver or Minnesota might have a key interest in pursuing him. My local sports talk radio program was talking about it that day...

Wow, this Favre guy should be a pro boxer, the way he keeps retiring and coming back.

They are in a brett favre frenzy right now.

Throw in a little A-Roid and Manny Ramirez, and whenever we watch the sports channels, we grab frantically for the remote control whenever those three names are mentioned.

And now Roger Clemens has crawled out from under his rock, so all we are hearing about is Brett Favre and Roger "Skank" Clemens (along with A-Rod and Ramirez).

All we need are stories about Michael Vick, Barry Bonds, and Terrell Owens, and the Perfect Storm of obnoxious sports stories will be complete for the week.

I miss the good old days with stuff like the Dennis Rodman circus on the Bulls and Latrell Spreewell strangling his coach, John Calipari...

Ugh. Now Michael Vick is crawling out from underneath his rock and is being released from federal prison today. The ESPN over-hype machine has already started up.

I live in Wisconsin-watched Favre play my whole life. Seems our players love to go play for the Vikes.

Wish him all the luck. He just became a rival, though.

Hope once the season starts, we will not have to hear about Favre anymore through a mild but benching required injury or mediocre play or whatever. I know the man has done nothing illegal (unlike most of the Unholy Sports Alliance of Overhyped Players), but am so freaking sick of hearing about him.
