I'm walking around work and chortling tonight.

A new staff pharmacist has just started and both my supervisor and the outpatient supervisor AND the service chief spent the first hour plus of my shift brown nosing and sucking up to him today.

I have never seen them act this way before towards anyone.

And then he mentioned that he is federal career for decades, was four grades higher in pay at FEMA (that is higher than my service chief, and about the same as the head of the freaking hospital), and that he used to work for the FDA.

BINGO!!!!

For the twenty plus years I have worked here, I have heard legends of people sent in undercover from other agencies to trouble areas/departments to act as moles and find out what is going on first hand.

For years the outpatient pharmcy here has been having narcotics issues, that has required occassional FBI and frequent police investigations.

Not to mention the huge lawsuits from former employees,two staff suicides, constant complaints about racism and the like, and employees writing to the offices of Congress and Senator Levin.

I would bet anything that the high muckety mucks in my department think this guy is a mole.

I do not believe it until I have actual evidence, and will treat him exactly like any other coworker.

But I am sure enjoying the hell out of watching my evil supervisor sweat.

This has made my Thanksgiving.

Now that is an interesting development, duchess. I sincerely hope that it's a sign of positive change coming to your workplace.

Yeah, agreed. Although...surely if he was, he wouldn't be hinting at it?

Haha, that was only the start of my problems. (Thanks guys, good to be back.) Couldn't get a signal where I am...had to rearrange the whole place...And now I'm wiped out...spent the day organising my study...needed 3 new shelves to put all the books I've gotten since I moved in...well...it wasn't enough...but at least they're all off the floor. One way or another.

Heh. After all the Pantheon alter egos that have floated around KW, nobody there has the right to complain about dANdeLION's and aTOMiC's multiple identities anymore.

Just to argue, I have to point out that (in my case at least), the identities are only for the relevant games.
