Sorry to say that Tam's back at the ER today-Grace and I were with her for 3 hours and she hadn't even been called yet. Her legs started to flare up last night and she really had trouble walking this morning. This nerve stuff can be very tough. We've had a great 2 weeks until this and she was happily working 4 days a week.

Poor Tam!

Give her a huge hug from me and my family, Danlo!

Hope she feels better soon!

She's still at the hospital and may be there overnight she's finally seen a resident and they say they're trying to get her food and meds. My poor baby is miserable.

Is she home yet? Poor sweet lady!

She came home at 12pm this aft, they did an MRI at 3am determined no serious change gave her a buttload of heavy meds and discharged her.

Hope Lady Tam is feeling better today, danlo.

Visited my mom over the weekend. She has dementia, so she didn't recognize me - at least not as who I am. She thought I was her brother. The person that used to be my mom is barely there anymore. Sad to see a once-energetic life reduced to a basic existence. But at least she's safely under the care of professionals who know what they're doing.

(I generally do not disclose private family matters, but I'm making an exception here.)

I only had a taste of that, as the morphine my Dad was put on prior to his passing clouded his mind so much he didn't know my sister or me. When mom had been put on similar prior to her death seven years before, she slipped in and out of a semi-comatose state, but when she was alert, she was lucid and knew us all.

Strength to accept things as they are sent your way, mm.

My mom stood up pretty strong to the morphine, I'm sure she knew us till the end.

Sorry to hear that MM, that's a rough one. Sometimes I'm grateful that all my family members have died in full possession of their faculties. Of course, most of them died young, so it's not much consolation. A good friend of our family's suffers from it though, very severly these days. At least she seems happy though. She too is professionally cared for. Her son, a friend of my late uncle's since childhood, told me that once she stopped recognising him at all, he couldn't look after her himself anymore.
