I think that's exactly the right frame of mind to be in. If there are flaws, that's ok, as long as it's entertainment. I'll be going on Friday, big bag of popcorn, enormous coke, thinking -there's going to be an Indiana jones movie on in a minute.! A new Indy!!

I'm really looking forward to seeing it. I think any flaws would have to be huge for me to be botehred by them. The original movies are filled with cheese and over the top moments - which all add to the fun! I think I would actually be disappointed if the new one does not have any over-the-top or cheesy moments!

My sons and I are in a house cleaning frenzy today. My younger son has scrubbed down the kitchen. My older son has done all of the vacuming (he does not have the dust allergies of myself or my younger son). I am in charge of laundry. I know it is a strange way to spend a work/school holiday, and we were originally hoping to spend the day in a park with a picnic lunch and some soccer balls. But huge storms are due in this afternoon, so we decided to clean the house and stay safely at home. The house really needed it anyway.

I am so blessed in my sons. People complain so much about their teenagers, but mine pitch right in and help out whenever I ask. :hearts:

Our cats always show us where the dust is by rolling around in it, so I suppose that's a help.

Glad you liked it, Av.

I've been checking out some reviews, and I'm a bit taken aback by how much hostility there is towards the movie.

Oh, well, I'm used to holding the minority view on a lot of movies.

I picked out doors for the new washroom and water heater closet and bought two lighting fixtures for the kitchen, a track and two adjustable pendant lights for the open air bar, and a ceiling fan and 88 inches of track lighting for the new office. I also scurried around the shed to find camping gear for Denver's "Seafest" and fixed a leak in the old never used frontyard irrigation system.:earthy:

My husband has a bit of a cold and was snoring so loud last night I am surprised none of the neighbors were calling the police for disturbing the peace. I tried moving to the couch, but that hurt my back, so I went back into the bedroom and felt around in the dark (not wanting to wake up my husband,as he was tired and not feeling well) until I the found the box of breathe right strips, and stuck one on his nose. Now, that did not help with snoring that deep, but I did find out that when you open up a breath right strip in the dark, it produces sparks!!!!!!

Yesterday, we looked at a house my husband might be to fix up and sell at a profit. It had been taken back by a bank, and was pretty damned trashed. Sort of a strange house. It had three living/family rooms and two complete kitchens. Four bedrooms with tiny closets that would not contain the wardrobe of a Barbie doll. Huge house with no closets to speak of. One small window per room - I have never seen such a dark and depressing house. Many houses around here are built to keep heat inside in the winter, but that was ridiculous. There was a live bird fluttering around in one of the living rooms - the kids and I broke the screen out of the window to let the poor little thing out. :| We felt bad for the family that got kicked out - you could tell (from the toys left behind) that they had at least three kids - a boy, a girl, and a baby. :|

It's amazing how many houses have been taken back by the banks around here. You just drive around, and look for the long grass. They say in some neighborhoods in soem of the Detroit suburbs, there might be an average of one house per block that has not been taken back by the bank. So many people have lost their jobs and their homes in this terrible economy. :(

Many of the people strip the valuables out of the house (copper plimbing, the furnace, the appliances, lighting fixtures, etc) just before they are kicked out, then deliberately trash the house to make it unsellable. :|

I saw something today that said that unemployment rose to 5.5% the biggest it's been since '86. Thanks George! :|

Yeah, on the Oz news last night the finance guy produced those unemployment figures and said that since January nearly 350,000 jobs have gone in the U.S. Whoever gets in in November is going to have a terrible hard job to do.

What happened at my house today is highly interesting, and I'm almost too exhausted to type about it. Not only have I had two painters, a tiler, an electrician, my contractor and his help walking all around my house and yard today, but half of my backyard just got flooded.

Believe it or not it wasn't they or I who were responsible. It was a Quest (local and longdistance telephone company that I have my DSL, long distance and Direct TV through) subcontractor who did it. They are putting in underground lines though everyone's back yard and have been very rude, unproffessional and threatening about everything too. They needed someone's backyard in which to set up a junction pylon and threatened me and my neighbor that they would call the police on us if one of us didn't allow them to set it up in our yard. I was already in a bad mood, having to clean out three (very full) closets so the painter could get at them, and four of these guys accosted me as I got out of my car. Only one was wearing a hardhat and his safety vest looked like it was pulled out of a dumpster-he had no identification and wouldn't give me a direct number to Quest. The other three looked like half-drunk thug kids in t-shirts and jeans.

So I finally got the Quest supervisor out here and he was extremely unhappy about the threats, behavior, dress, lack of courtesy, no ids and no notification---needless to say the flood they caused. He took photos, I took photos, I called Quest claims and they're sending an examiner out tomorrow. I even called my city concilor who is very concerned about the overall situation and is helping me with legal advice. I swear I'll get so much money out of these guys that my lawn resodded and my hardwood floor refinishing paid for. And more!

Whew so it's been insane-

btw: if it sounded a little confusing about the flood-I was the one who finally accended to using my yard for the pylon thinghy-they dug this huge hole in the back of my yard (didn't expect it to be that big) and then they bored though it the lenght of the block-in order for their drill to work and not overheat water must be shot into the cable hole, it, apparently, never causes a flood that big-but it did.

Just having a nice relaxing day off from work at home with my kids; all of us watching EuroCup soccer. 8)

Younger son and I are both pretty sick with seasonal allergies right now (grass pollen and mold) so it is nice that we both have a day off to rest and relax. 8)
