I'm cold today, it's 48F right now and I'm in shorts with the front door open (for extention cords) and my garage door ripped off as well as the inside door. Soon they will move the waterheater, take out three eletrical outlets, blow out most of the wall between the far end of the kitchen and garage, take the remote garage door device off the cieling and start framing everything for the remodel. Busy day, cold day, but very busy...need a hot chocolate!

Well, old man winter must've gotten jealous of the nice spring weather we were having, cuz he paid us a return visit this past week - the prairies got pounded by a whole lotta snow. Wet snow, heh. And gusting winds.

Today, no snow, but there's still the wind. Crazy weather.

Damn, I've had a harsh day. 2am this morning, my uncle had a massive heart attack, and despite immediate CPR from his son, who is a paramedic, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

It's funny how these things work...this was a bolt from the blue, he was fit, to all appearances hale and hearty...and yet...this was the only weekend this year that his son was going to be home. I was going to leave on Wednesday. As it was, he had all his family and loved ones here, we had a great weekend together, hell, 3 hours before he'd won quite a lot of money at the casino.

If anybody had a choice, I'd say he went as happy as he's ever been.

One week later, and only his girlfriend and 17-yr old daughter would have been here. Almost enough to make you think huh...

Anyway, so I'm staying down here until some things get sorted out. Will be on now and then.

(And yes, he probably died pretty happy, so to speak, surrounded by his loved ones. Still. )

My condolences, Av. At least he was spared a long, lingering kind of death. And thus the family was also spared.

But all this does make you think about your own mortality, the randomness of existence, etc.

Thanks MM. Only too true. Luckily for me I'm all too aware of that randomness. It does help I find.

Spent last night doing my taxes. Dropped it off at the tax centre about 20 minutes before the midnight deadline.

Am busy doing yard work (pruning back my raspberry vines, etc.) and am about to finish up cleaning my older son's room, as he will be back home from university on Saturday. Might not be around much tomorrow or Saturday, as we will be down in Indiana helping him pack up his dorm room and move down. The weather forecast: thunderstorms. Might be an interesting couple of days.

I feel ill-just got the estimate for tiling and installing the heatmesh (electric radiant heat) in the garage that's becoming an office. We can, barely, make overall budget without breaking, barring any other unforseen problems...**teeth chatter**

I need to hide here for the rest of the day-damm Watch is too tension filled today (I feel it seething like a wild beast ready to strike) no, that was poetic license-it's not that bad, it's just tough being an admin there sometimes.

Hahaha, it's tough just being a mod there sometimes.

Good luck for your renovations man...surely you must be nearly done?
