I got all five books for Damelon today when we were Christmas shopping.

Hopefully he will get a chance to read them soon.

Shadow is going to start reading them as well. I told him how peaceful they were and how I'm sure he is going to love them. *********

I know Damelon has been reading them, too. We'll just have to work on getting him to post.

Indeed, no choice what so ever. There is a peace to these books that I find very appealing. When I sit down to read them I am instantly absorbed into their serenity. Right now, I am in the middle of "The Farthest Shore." And I think Furls said it best..."It's like reading a dream". I love the character of Ged, and now Arren and I love the dragons. I should be done with them all soon.

You know, its a bit funny, but some of the most memorable (and new to me -- well, I HAD read part of Earthsea a long time ago, but this is the first time I have finished the series) fantasy I have read in the past few months are all technically Young Adult -- the Earthsea books, Garth Nix's Abhorsen trilogy, and now Pullman's His Dark Materials...I dunno, with a few exceptions like Martin and Williams a lot of the adult fantasy out there (Jordan, Goodkind, Brooks, et al) being written right now just seems to be too formulaic...for the unique and meaningful I think I am going to have to spend more time in the teen section of the bookstore... ******************************************************

Hard for quality stuff like Earthsea to NOT get a bit of quality action. ____________
