*ignoring all previous posts until I finish The Farthest Shore* Last night, once I finally turned off the computer and settled in to do some reading before sleep, my eyes were heavy as I finished the last chapter I planned to read at that time. I turned the page to mark where I would start again and there it was... The chapter titled Orm Embar... I must have sat there for 20 minutes, debating if I was awake enough to continue. The fact that I suddenly jerked awaked with the book still open to that page decided me. |

ORM EMBAR!!!!!! So powerful he doesn't even bother to keep his own name secret! (No, that's not much of a spoiler, so don't worry.) Finished yet?????????????? |

Oh... *rocking...grieving* Today I have read Orm Embar, The Dragon's Run, and Selidor. I must stop for the night and absorb all I read. To go on without doing so would be...sacrilege for me. ...the tears won't stop... |

...fini... As slow as I read, I really wish I had time to reread this one even slower to get deeper into some of the wisdom in it. Perhaps if I finish the series before the due date I can reread this one. Fist...I have added another series on to my wish list of books to own one day. Onward to Tehanu. ***edit*** Oh...a question.
While I accept that Ged foresaw Arren becoming King of all Earthsea, is it ever explained how he claims that kingship? What it is that happens or changes for him to ascend to the throne? ...thinking of the line of the Rangers and Aragon's journey to Kingship...
I understand such plot details are not the point of these books. But...I am curious. Oh...and Hyperception has forewarned me that Tehanu is very sad. True? I do remember Duchess' warning about child abuse... |
