Wizard of Earthsea Group Read?

Highdrake, if you are about to read Midnight Tides...well, to me that book is where Erikson sort of jumped the shark.

I did not really care so much for the first Malazan book, but loved Deadhouse Gates, Memories if Ice, and House of Chains. And then came Midnight Tides...

On the other hand, it is the favorite book of a lot of Malazan fans, so you might like it a lot. :lol:

Menolly, I cannot speak for Fisty, but I know I would recomend Wizard of Earthsea to anyone. And I think you would be fine just reading that one (though you might well enjoy it so much that you will finish reading it the day you started, and then go on to try to find all of the other books, and devour them as well).

And there should be no problem with you joining the group read at any point when you want to jump in.

My younger son actually read the second book, The Tombs of Atuan first, then went back to read the first book. And then bounced to the third. He loved them all. :lol:

So I think you will be just fine being part of the group read whenever you feel comfortable enough to join on in.

Like I say, I won't read Midnight Tides until I've re-read the first four. (And I'm enjoying GotM even more this time around, even though I haven't had the time to read much yet. Only a bit over 100 pages so far.)

Menolly, WoE isn't a long or difficult book, so you'd probably be well ahead of the Dissection. Post if you want.

My three goals this weekend are heading down to Monroe tomorrow to watch my younger son play soccer, writing up a snarky review of Nights with Sasquatch on Amazon, and figuring out how send out a group email for this group read, since we are talking about starting it the following weekend.

(I'll put in a plug for Dune as well, Av. :wink:

Any volunteers to go first? (If no one volunteers I guess I will start things off).
