And *I* felt bad about sidetracking this thread?!!! *Goes to Moe's bar for some drink to celebrate* *puts on his make-shift 100th member badge* *hiccup* Uh, by the way, why is it called "Ahira"? Judging from your sig, Danlo, seems you are an integral part of it? Not to mention that little "Timekeeper" bit, eh heh... “Not a whit, we defy augury: there's a special providence in the fall of a sparrow. If it be now, 'tis not to come; if it be not to come, it will be now; if it be not now, yet it will come: the readiness is all: since no man has aught of what he leaves, what is't to leave betimes?”Edited by: William Smit IV at: 3/7/03 7:26:36 pm |

This site is dedicated 2 David Zindell author of Neverness and the 3 books that follow called "A Requiem for Homo Sapiens" Danlo is the main character of those 3, his doeffel (spirit animal) is the snowy owl, which is also the name of his lightship, in Devaki, the carked neandrathal tribe from which he originates, snowy owl= Ahira.... And now Danlo looked in that direction, too. He remembered that snowy owls mate in the darkest part of deep winter, and so along with this beautiful white bird perched in a tree a hundred feet away, he turned to face the sea as he watched and waited. Ahira, Ahira, he called out silently to the sky. Ahira, Ahira |

Sounds cool! I think I'll read that, since trying to get "The Briar King" in my neck of the woods is very much like pulling teeth... And Amazon let me down hard last time, so I'm a little leary. “Not a whit, we defy augury: there's a special providence in the fall of a sparrow. If getting Briar King is hard, good luck getting Neverness. I finally got my copy from Alibris yesterday. As soon as I finish Book of the New Sun I'll start it. ________________ I wanna feel the metamorphosis and cleansing I've endured within my shadow. Change is coming. Now is my time. 4 more on that go 2 "This is why Neverness is so hard 2 find" thread in the Zindell 4rum. **Is having a terrible time figuring out who's Av has the cooler beard, Syl's or LF's** And now Danlo looked in that direction, too.
