This text-based RPG is based on a series of books called "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R.R. Martin. Minor characters may be played by those who are not familiar with the works, but any major ones must be played by someone who has read the series.
It is set seventeen years before the opening of A Game of Thrones, and one year before the tourney at Harrenhal at which Rhaegar crowns Lyanna as the Queen of Love and Beauty, and Jaimie is elevated to the Kingsguard. Mad King Aerys has thrown a tourney at King's Landing to celebrate reports from the Citadel of gradually lengthening days which could signal the beginning of the end of winter. The cold of the South is not as harsh and bleak as the North, and the snow on the ground does not keep all of the Seven Kingdoms from traveling to King's Landing in the hopes of winning fame, glory, and riches untold.
You may have a canon(book) character, or invent your own. Keep in mind the age your character would have been back then. IE. Sansa was not born yet, so she can obviously not be played.

The only taken characters thus far are Rhaegar, Varys, Jaime, and Cersei. Everyone else is fair game.
