Actually Linden was starting to get to me around p. 100 and, like you guys, I'm one of her biggest supporters, but the way I forced myself to read after that page helped me-it was sort of fast-compartmentalizing, kind of like;

People who undergo severe abuse as children do go back in their minds to those memories and feelings when they are under a lot of stress. It does bother them for the rest of their lives, hence the true evil of abuse. But - in order to be effective - and a physician must be effective - they have to go onwards even when the abuse is bothering them.
