I would like to reread as much as Donaldson's work as I can before Elohimfest....
Loved my revisit to Mordant...and I've always been a TCTC girl...
But I am having some issues with rereading the Gap.
I remember them as being books I could not put down when I read through them the first (and only) time -- but I remember some pretty disturbing stuff in them, too...
Am I remembering them correctly? Is there really explicit rape and even more horrible things in these books? Or is my memory exaggerating stuff?
Can someone please give me some encouragement so I can get started? ******************************************************

There is rape and repeated rape and implants and drugs and other nasties but it's not pornographically graphic. The series flies once you get past The Real Story, but it's actually rereading The Real Story that scares me... *****

I seem to remember that it took me as long to get through that first little book as it did the much larger next four books put together...so if I can get up my courage to get through that one then, the rest should be OK?

Well, I have made it to the third book, A Dark and Hungry God Arises, and the very beginning, with the Dragon's little old mother on life support has gotten me all again...think I will take another few days off... ******************************************************
