Hmmm...This is the point I was trying to make in our discussion here about Joan, when so many people were down on her. Glad to read vindication right from the author's mouth.

hmph! I knew someone would point that part out!!

I must say I was disappointed to read that .. I am a parent and I agree that our protective instincts are powerful .. but also the bond between partners .. soul mates are equally strong .. abandonment is not a choice that comes easily to my mind .. and it did seem to come all too quickly to Joan's.

though I will say .. that she did seem to regret that choice .. hence the guilt imposed psycho-trip she was on the rest of the 1st chrons.

I still dont think much of her .. but perhaps I will no longer ... 'sneer' ..

And to be frank .. I never considered it sneering .. but just very very critical of her actions .. and the pain she caused TC.

I think SRD was just being PC 'Smoke me a kipper .. I'll be back for breakfast!
