Anyone checked it out yet? It's supposed to be the story of Oberon's life in the early days of Amber and was written even though Roger didn't want anyone to write in the Amber universe after his passing. Opinions?

I personally am not going to read it. Not just because of the respect for Zelaznys wishes but even more so because I dont see how this guy knows any more than the rest of us what it was like before Amber. I mean did he go into the mind of zelazny and figure it out? Its like a dirty dirty dirty fake...plus it goes against zelaznys wishes and I just cant believe someone would be that shallow... Asshai by the Shadow a new board, come discuss the darker side of ASoIaF.

You know, I saw that book at Borders last week and I was wondering about it. Sounds like perhaps something to take a pass on. Why would someone write something like this against the creator's wishes?? Ankh-Morpork people considered that spelling was a sort of optional extra. They believed in it the same way they believed in punctuation; it didn't matter where you put it, so long as it was there.~Terry Pratchett

And now Danlo looked in that direction, too. He remembered that snowy owls mate in the darkest part of deep winter, and so along with this beautiful white bird perched in a tree a hundred feet away, he turned to face the sea as he watched and waited.

Ahira, Ahira, he called out silently to the sky. Ahira, Ahira

You got it! It's hard to find a descent Zelazny site nowdays that isn't pure RPing. I like to discuss the books and possible endings and stuff, not act them out. Well, not act them out much....

I have the RP books.

*is ashamed*

hey, rp is good. its just annoying how many sights never update, and have no content worth mentioning other than broken links. of course, quotes are usually funny.

if a new amber book exisits, then i must find a copy to read.

got a copy, and have started reading (just finished chapter 2)

its by john gregory betancourt, and the full title is "Roger Zelazny's The Dawn of Amber". back cover states the new trilogy is fully authorized by the zelazny estate. from what ive read so far, its very well written.
the next one in the trilogy will be 'amber and chaos' (hope it comes out soon).

well, i just now have finished reading the dawn of amber. very good book.

i rate it at 95% amber goodness. it would be 100%, but i rather dislike how logrus power is shown in use by dworkin- it seems to much like pattern. also, there are a number of typos that i noticed- they need a better editor

i will be posting a review with spoilers in a new thread.
