" I sometimes think that we are all a bunch of mean old ladies living in a combination rest home and obstacle course."
Corwin says it in the first books. I just love it. It's right up there with "Robots don't know from antichrists" and I can't remember what the name of the book I read that in was.

the best amber quote is in guns of avalon.

"never trust a relative. it is far worse than trusting strangers. with a stranger there is a possibility that you minght be safe"
..."youself included?" (corwin) smiled. "of course it does not apply to me. i am the soul of honor, kindness, mercy, and goodness. trust me in all things." "i will" (dara) said, and (corwin) laughed.

thats the best summary of the amber attitude right there.

I remember that quote--I love that quote! Welcome Teulisch! Be Welcome and tru! And now Danlo looked in that direction, too. He remembered that snowy owls mate in the darkest part of deep winter, and so along with this beautiful white bird perched in a tree a hundred feet away, he turned to face the sea as he watched and waited.

Ahira, Ahira, he called out silently to the sky. Ahira, Ahira
