OK, finished up. There were some things in this book that were very well done - such as the parallell stories of children estranged from their parents
The last two hundred pages were...WHOA!!!

After all of the slow buildup it was great to get to the point where all hell started breaking loose all over the place.
I just wish the timelines made more sense. And other stuff, too like:
I know that a series this long and convoluted and with two authors is going to have timeline messups and continuity issues.
I strongly urge Erikson and Esslemont (not that they would listen to me since I am a total stranger!

) to consider hiring a continuity editor to keep things on track a bit better. A lot of authors actually do this once their series get long enough - they actually pay someone to keep track of niggling details like character appearance and ages, etc. Two examples I can think of just from the top of my head are Rowling (Harry Potter series) and Charlaine Harris (Sookie Stackhouse series).
Anyway, it certainly would not hurt.
