ResolutionsFinal chapter! (Though there is an epilogue).
Kiska wakes up at a private home containing Coop and a couple of other people. She has been sleeping on a bench and is wearing someone else's clothes which make her look like a child, which she resents.
It turns out that the other man there is Seal, the former military healer, and it is his home. He talls her he had to burn her old clothes, and that she and two other men had arrived, with her in the roughest shape of the three. the other two have gone on, and they left word that they are at the wharf. So after eating a huge breakfast, Kiska sets off to the wharf, walking through a town filled with people looking as if they have survived a natural disaster.
She finds the message cutter and Hattar and Tay. She offers her service, and they accept - if she can be back in two hours.
So off she goes to visit Agayla, who is sick and worn out.
Temper leaves the Deadhouse (and how can a guardian do this anyway???) and climbs back up to the Hold. He finds the Hold and the garrison in an uproar. Assassisn had coem in the night via Warren to atatck the high official! It wasn't the fault of the garrison! How could they fight Warren power? Temper is amused. And very pleased with his perfomance the night before. He is still The Man, and he has proven that to himself.
He notices a message cutter leaving port, sailing off into a calm sea.
He hopes Surly never returns to the island and the city.
