My older daughter (aka Batsutousai on the Watch) pestered me into signing up for NaNo this year.
I spent last weekend in Roanoke with the girls. I got about 20 min. of writing in on Saturday, 0 min. on Sunday (had to drive home), 0 min. on Monday (had to get caught up on the stuff I didn't get done all weekend while I was out of town), and 0 min. on Tuesday (glued to the election returns!). Consequently, I am about 5000 words behind right now. And I will be driving back down to Roanoke for Thanksgiving -- just down Thursday and back Friday, but still, that kills at least one more day.
I will *never* get caught up.
Batty, needless to say, is well ahead of where her word count needs to be right now. And her girlfriend is right on target. I hate them both.

(Not really, of course. But it *is* annoying.)
Truth to tell, I don't really care about the certificate. I signed up only because I needed a kick in the butt to actually write this novella. When I pulled out my research for it, I realized I've had the idea since at least January....
Duchess, what's your NaNo username? Mine is aliantha.
