In California where I grew up, and where I am now, there's Mayonnaise (various brands and makers, one supposes) and Best Foods Miracle Whip (a brand namespeciality product), and the Miracle Whip is called 'sandwich spread'. What's the difference? Many people feel they're interchangeable and identical enitities. However, that does sound right to me, IMO there's a taste difference.

I think Miracle Whip is sweeter. We always used Miracle Whip at home when I was a kid. I've since converted to mayo.
