I developed diverticulitis at somewhere around 37. They found polyps when I got my first colonoscopy. Unusual to have either thing at that age, but there ya go. Heh. But if you don't have something like the nasty pain I had before they figured out what was wrong, I wouldn't have had it done nearly so young. I'm one of those "if you're not in pain, why go to the doctor/dentist" guys. |

Well, as I said under the spoiler to Highdrake, it is the cleansing process that actually freaks me out more than the actual procedure. For the actual procedure they knock you out, so you do not know what they are doing...  I got my presciption filled for the horse laxative yesterday. It is a gallon jug with some powder in the bottom. I have to mix it with water and drink the damned thing the night before the butt scope, which will lead to uncontrollable diarrhea...  And Danlo - you should get it done. They want us all to get one because of the high rate of colon cancer in this country. The baseline exam might be important later on in your life. |

You can't have those particular colors in your system because they're difficult to distinguish from blood. If they see that, they think there's definitely a problem, and start trying to track it down. |

I had my breakfast of three different Tim Horton's chocolate doughnuts this morning, washed down by a 20 ounce Diet Pepsi Max.  When I get home from work tonight, I will mix up my gallon of horse laxative and a thing of green jello and one of yellow jello so they will all be cold and ready to go tomorrow. The way this week is going at work, The buttscope is starting to look good. Sunday night I got to work with two half trained newbs on afternoons, and then the midnight person called in, so I go stuck with her job as well as mine.Last night an afternoon and the midnight person called in, so I got literally stuck with the work of three people. My body was so sore when I finally got home, that I felt like I had been beaten. I was not able to fall asleep until I took some extra strength tylenol, wishing it could have been aleve.  But anyway, I am ready. I will get the stuff ready when I get home for tomorrow. Tomorrow I will drink green and yellow gator aid and water all day to hydrate myself well. Then, at 4PM I will lock myself in the bathroom with a plunger (for obvious reasons), a bucket (in case of vomiting), a mop (in case of vomiting), my gallon of laxative (which I really hope will not make me sick out of both ends - the sheer quantity of it is a bit shocking), and a stack of cheesy romance novels for the lols. |
