When confronted by this level of absurdity, what else can you do but shake your head and move on? I agree with the user who replied that rich people must live on a different planet than the rest of us. A planet where a $5,000 burger just means something fun to eat on a Friday night out on the town.

The gross discrepancy between the haves and the have-nots is with us all the time, and we often forget just how wide the divide is, and then something like this comes along and really focuses our attention. We need some voluptuary laws!

According to $5000 would enable them to serve 15,000 individual meals to hungry persons.

So for the price of one burger at that place in Vegas, you could feed one good meal to 15,000 hungry poor children. :evil:

All right, so I'm still fascinated/appalled by those ultra-expensive burgers. Looking at the $175 gold-flecked burger from the Wall Street Burger Shoppe, I need to be enlightened on this question: is the human digestive system actually capable of absorbing gold? And if not, then do rich customers eat these burgers just so they can brag that when they go to the toilet, even their poop is golden?

However, gold leaf is used for cake decorating quite a bit. Never a lot, but it is edible, and makes a beautiful presentation.
