For myself, I have spent a good amount of time reading some of the deeper things a sampling Be here now by Baba Ram Dass (aka Richard Alpert), Carlos Castenada (was it a continuing 40 yr. hoax or not), Allan Watts (IMO, the real deal, author of The Book, and others),Zen Mind, Beginners Mind, Three Pillars of Zen. Oh, well an impressive reading list.
Another question does anyone think there might be some organic connection between these areas of interest and interest in SF? For example, from recent empirical observation I can vouch that the fan community has a much higher incident of pagans (definition pagan = wiccan, shamanist, dieist, pantheist, etc), religious seekers, unorthodox thinkers than one might find in the in the populace at large. taraswizard
